You need to come to the west during the salmon run. Come early in the run so you get the properly big fish up to 8kg. Grab a handful of sand before you try tailing your fish. Will make getting a grip much easier

We are (at this stage....) planning a trip after easter for the big salmon! That sand method sounds great, may have to borrow that one! cheers Maverick!

I’m from New Zealand and we call what you call salmon kahawai I don’t know why there called Australian salmon even though there not related to salmon
@rogerramjet72464 жыл бұрын
We also call our Herring Tommy Ruff even though they aren’t related to Tom
@gqwarrior66944 жыл бұрын
@@rogerramjet7246 That's only in the eastern states. We call them herring or hezzas here in the west.
@rogerramjet72464 жыл бұрын
Maverick Offroad yeah Australia is funny in that way. We call sardines Pilchards, you guys call them Muellies ( spelling is probably wrong) or something like that.
@gqwarrior66944 жыл бұрын
@@rogerramjet7246 Yeah there's a lot of different names depending locality. The one that used to cause the most headaches when I first moved here from Victoria was jewfish. We call them mullas so we don't confuse them with dhufish. Of course, it doesn't help that we also have the black jewfish up north, which most over here call jews 😂
@pittypitt27794 жыл бұрын
Roger Ramjet we call them pilchards or Phillies also
