Patrick Dangerfield is a master on the field when it comes to AFL....but when it comes to fishing in a boat and filming television....well, let's just say he's not the brightest! ha ha ha!

The reefs and Islands around Mission Beach used to hold heaps of fish way bigger until the southern tourists came cleaned up and took them back home in frozen fillets, just tiddlers left now.

Sorry Paul I tried to watch this one but only got 1 minute into figjam Dangerfield and had to turn it off. I'm sure it was a good one but sadly I'll never know what happens

Still haven't learned, put the fish back in the water if you are going to release it. Holding the fish out like that while you flap your gums goes a long way in undoing all the good work others have done in presenting our hobby to the non fishing public. It's not rocket science, hold your breath the moment you lift a fish from the water and don't breath again until it swims away.

Fish are a lot tougher then you give them credit for

I think you will find for the most part they swim the fish while they set up to do the shot with the exception of anything that has serious teeth . You can also use the deck wash pump if fitted to flush salt water through the gills , they usually don't show this in the footage . The number one thing on the mind of PW is the welfare of the fish. My personal way of doing catch and release is i won't lift the fish out of the water if possible but sometimes it is unavoidable .

@@ianbertenshaw4350 nah catching a fish and putting it on film is his number one priority. If fish welfare was, he wouldn't go fishing.
@michaelhall54294 жыл бұрын
@@billyg3475 you might want to check some of the research on that. Even the toughest fish have a mortality rate for catch and release.
