Don't fall for the commentator hype. Whyte was not dominating Povetkin. Povetkin was boxing well within himself, albeit struggling a little with his timing. Not unusual for a man entering middle-age. Povetkin began to open up in the 3rd when he got caught with counters. I think Whyte's size and weight advantage was a bigger influence on the knock-downs than crisp punching. Povetkin didn't look particularly hurt when he got up. He continued the attack in the 4th, and as we know, KO'd Whyte with the 1st combination of the round. This loss is a disaster for Whyte. He was much bigger and younger, but was comprehensively beaten. The fact is that Whyte has done very well for his limited skill-set. He's an example to many other fighters for his work ethic and guts, but he's not a good boxer. Dreadful footwork and balance and he doesn't have a great chin. At his age, he may also be past his prime.
