8:50.. Chris... I just modified my FS-i6X to output about a 3 times louder Beeper sound. It is a simple matter of drilling an appropriately sized hole in the rear case cover directly over the Beeper and inserting an 8mm diameter silicone hose deep enough to touch the Beeper. leave about 1/16" of tubing protruding out of the case. You can glue it to the case or as I did make the hole smaller than 8mm for a press fit. This produces a sound pipe. It is as loud as placing the Beeper outside the Xmitter case. BTW... A full wavelength of 2.4GHZ is 12.5 cm. A 1/2 wavelength is 6.25 cm A 1/4 wavelength is 3.125 cm

I just discovered today my FS-IA6B does 10 channels flawless on the I--BUS, despite the datasheet says it has only six channels. I am using it as wireless joystick on linux. (Someone made a linux driver to support I-BUS connected to a USB-serial converter as a joystick.)
@lachlangreen83894 жыл бұрын
And P.S, if you haven't already figured it out, the RX do S.Bus because it's just inverted i.bus. I think they omit the mention because s.bus may be a registered trademark of another brand. So to avoid issues they may have the feature there but not mention it on their manual or website ;) I have flysky ia6b and x6b and was pleasantly surprised to be able to use both the rx on my omphobby m2 v2 helicopter which only has futaba s.bus input.
@lachlangreen83894 жыл бұрын
P.S. The cable works great with the PC, I use it on many flight sims. You have to install the correct driver for the cable first.
@iforce2d4 жыл бұрын
Sbus may be inverted UART, but it's not just inverted iBus. iBus has a very different packet format and includes error checking bytes, imo a superior format. So the firmware on the receiver needs to know how to produce both formats. The early ia6b receivers with older firmware don't support it, but you can update the firmware: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJO9qmaXnJJrpbc

A bit of extra information curtesy of "kibatiusagi" - that Futaba S-bus satellite receiver and input socket is also used on the Eachine E119 heli and he has shown that the S-bus wire can be fed with a PPM signal as well. It possibly will also work for the Omphobby heli and the S/T720 planes.

Thank you for this video. I purchased a X220 wizard/Flysky combo and I couldn't get the motors to turn on. After watching your video on assigning the channels, it makes sense that the switches to arm the motors weren't working as the channels were off by default. Unfortunately, I reset the Tx to factory default, which wiped out the bind, so now I'm waiting for a bind cable to start over. :)

A bind cable is essentially just a plain piece of wire. If you can connect the bind pin to ground with any conducting material (I have used tweezers sometimes) while turning the receiver on it will enter bind mode.

Hello, I have a GOOLRC GC6 what's nothing but a labeled FS-i6 and ther stock firmware had the S.BUS option, I flashed it with an unofficial 10ch firmware and it also has the S.Bus inside. Another benefit of that moddified fiermware is that the 10V limit of the voltsgae reading is gone, a flight timer is present and you can assign also switch combinations for the AUX channels. I've also had a look inside my i6 and it seems that there is one open pin on the left side of the pcb for a second 3 position switch. More I really do not need from this cheapy, nice for small models and if I need more moxers, flightmodes or whatever I use my Taranis, that has a multiprotocol module in it's slot that can also work with AFHDS and AFHDS 2A for the use this little of cheap as chips FS receivers . ;)

Ok, for people who are using FCs for everything it doesn't matter cause the mixes are inside the FC, stored and activated with the flightmodes, but for flying planes by myself it would be interesting to know if the i6x has more mixes or other useful things. My small park jets do need more than three mixes with elecons, flaperons, spoilerons, etc... When I see the manual it's almost a copy of the i6 manual, so there is nothing new.
@iforce2d8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't see any new mixes.
@andreasm.47248 жыл бұрын
That's a bad news whenever expected, it has e rteason that you can't read anything about the number of mixes in product descriptions, any other 6 channel computer radio has more. So let's hope that the good guys who implanted most of the i6X into the old i6 will use the bigger flash mem of the STM32 to realize more mixes to make the radio more useful. Meanwhile I will use my Taranis plus with it's advanced options for AFHDS 2A where I need more than 3 mixes or elevons. Btw. when the specs are right, the i6X has quad times stick resolution of the i6, so the sticks should work a little smoother. However, I don't regret that I've bought this little i6 in addition to my Taranis, I've got it for round about 30.-€ or 35.-bucks with iA6 and a nice transmitter bag and both radios have S-BUS and are working with the bunch of FS RXs, that I've left over from my first radio ever, a FS-T6 and yepp, one of the reasons I've bought the Taranis and sold the T6 was the lousy number of mixes. The i6 has telemetry, better range, TX and RXs are cheap like chips and with S-Bus mixes can be done inside most FCs, so why not use it for some models. ;)

So, after buying a load of standard props about a year and a half ago,for dji style locknut design motors(i was a noob lol) recently i sent off to banggood for what was titled as locknut design props. I got the same generic props again instead, so basically they're not able to go all the way down the motor shaft. Last night i used a dremel rotary tool to shave away the inside of one of these generic props, and it does go all the way down, and the cone nut does seem to go further down and even because of the composition of these plastic 'other' props, it seems to 'squeeze' a little more gradually on, tightening the prop gradually. Do you think this could be a problem? Shaving away the inside first half of the prop. It still has a lot to hold onto the motor shaft Sorry this has nothing to do with the content of this vid, but i follow you on here, and this was your latest vid. :)

@iforce2d Жыл бұрын
This receiver is not really designed for use with servos, it is more intended for flight controllers that use a single connection like ibus, or have PWM inputs all on the same rail. It does have servo PWM outputs but they are pretty inconvenient to actually use. You'd either need to use the 8 pin cable, or the solder pads marked CH1, CH2 etc on the PCB. Either way you would have to make up your own cables. I have never used this with servos and I really doubt many other people have either, it's just not made for that purpose. You can switch the radio protocol to AFHDS under System Setup -> RX setup -> RF standard kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGe6nHmceJypi7M

@iforce2d6 жыл бұрын
Depends what you want to control. The receiver itself merely relays the position of the sticks and switches, that information could be used for anything. For example, you might want to open and close a cat-door remotely to let your cat inside :) You could also use it to move the ailerons and elevator on a plane manually to control it. But if you want the plane to be able to fly automatically, or auto-level, do GPS missions etc, then you need a flight controller. For multirotors you will always need a flight controller because it's not humanly possible to control the speed of all four motors manually to keep it stable.

The receiver connects to an ESC, not a motor. This receiver is not very convenient for connecting servos. Sounds like some of these videos might be useful: kzbin.info/aero/PLzidsatoEzejIpdla6_ggPcDCPJ9u4WHj

Hi Thank you for this video, I have a couple of questions. I have the old fs i6 set with 6 channels and I don't want upgrade the firmware to 10channels cause all my receivers are 6 channels. Can the i6x work with both 6 and 10receivers? Also is there around any video that clearly shows how to connect ppm. Thank you

If you have a X6A and a flysky voltage sensor, is it possible to set an alarm on the exernal voltage sensor? I can't work out how to do it. I think I broke one of my X6A receivers trying to do the mod to use the internal sensor as the battery voltage sensor.
@iforce2d8 жыл бұрын
In System -> RX setup -> RX battery, you can change the type to ExtLipo, then set the voltage as necessary.

Good review I found the cable useless too when I tried to update firmware on i6 it just wouldn't connect
@lachlangreen83894 жыл бұрын
you need to install a driver first
@lachlangreen83894 жыл бұрын
silabs USB to UART driver. then the cable that comes with the transmitter will work for flight sims

good video. nicely covered everything essential. It would be great if you switch your camera to manual focus, the fuzzy image was the only thing bothering me. But even so, great video mate!

Hi, do you have to use a flip 32 to connect the servos to the X6B receiver ? Or is it possible to connect the servos directly to the receiver ?Thank you.
@iforce2d8 жыл бұрын
You can use the PWM outputs of the receiver to connect directly to servos.
@FlySweden8 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the answer. The problem is that the servos have the same female connectors as the wires which are linked to the 6 PWN outputs (you are talking about it in this video at 5:10). So I can't connect them together without a male adaptor. I'm looking for some pins like on the ia6b receiver, to connect my servo cables. I hope you understand what I mean. Thank you.

Please help my beepy situation if you can. I got a single antenna version of the flysky X6B from the Eachine Vtail in an F4 board and although it works, my Fsi6 beeps constantly. Readings on screen On screen shows IntV1 :0.00v Tx . V1:5.15 Err1 : 0% The port puts out 5.2v when I read it with my DMM. How to stop the damn beeping without removing my TX speaker or flashing firmware because I have 12 models I really don't want to take apart just to bind again to fly this tomorrow?

Newbie question, whereto connect external voltage sensor? Can i connect directly on positive negative on pdb? And what cable color should i use.?
@darkracer12526 жыл бұрын
so i ordered the i6x with the ia10a receiver. (pwm 10channel) instead of with the x6b receiver. did i make a mistake. i was simply planning to not use a flight controller. so then i could not use sbus and ppm excetra. so i would have been limited to 6 channels with the x6b
@darkracer12526 жыл бұрын
didn't get a flight controller in order to save costs
@darkracer12526 жыл бұрын
ps: i'm building a plane, not a drone. so the flight controller is optional
@iforce2d6 жыл бұрын
If you're not gonna use ibus etc, then 10 channels of PWM would be more useful, especially for a plane where you might have more servos, eg. for flaps, retracts.
@darkracer12526 жыл бұрын
yeah flaps and landing gear for one. maybe a cargobay. (i plan to design an antonov an225 one day. i'll just group each set of engines per wing to one channel)

So does this receiver have an RSSI output? Looks like you only showed battery voltage monitoring.
@iforce2d7 жыл бұрын
No. The transmitter will show an 'error' percentage which seems to be an equivalent, but there is no convenient way to get it onto an OSD and you can't set a warning alarm on the radio for it either.
@gsixx8fpv4997 жыл бұрын
iForce thank you for this vid. Any idea how to get RSSI to show in osd? I have the i6 tx with the hali9 update and the x6b rx. My FC is the f4 Omnibus Pro V3.

the regular FS i6... can you change the mode 1 and 2 for left or right throttle control ? which mode is most commonly used ? which mode is better ?
@iforce2d4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can change the mode, would also need to open it up and move the spring from one side to the other so that the throttle doesn't return to center. Mode 2 is probably the easiest to learn because the pitch and roll is like in a real plane control stick, as if you grab hold of the top of the aircraft and moved it directly. Mode 2 is also more common, so easier if you want to let your friends have a go, or if they let you try theirs.

@@iforce2d After watching many of your videos for their expert advice young fellah, it is comforting for an old has-been to come across just 1 instance where we can finally feel superior. 😜😁😁 All 4 modes are available on these Flysky Txs and you don't have to faff about with shifting springs/dragplates etc. Just relocate the non-sprung gimbal to your preferred side and select the correct mode in the settings. 😉

🤣🤣🤣 the stickers are if your setting it up for a specific model and labeling you channel functions . You unplug the switch after you take the back of the radio off. You have to unplug the trainer port and battery connections. Rest is self explanatory

Already ordered a reciever , i have some smaller with ppm for 130 size quads and smaller, but they fly away if signal is lost, im guessing this dont
@iforce2d8 жыл бұрын
You can set failsafe positions for each channel, eg. to cut the throttle if you lose signal.

Which receiver?
@larsmartintangen70728 жыл бұрын
iforce2d x6b, If i cut power from my transmitter it hold last position , if i set trottle to ca 50% and cut the transmitter , the reciever keep holding 50% but if i do the same with the older 6b ppm reciever the signal drop down to ca 885 when i cut power on my transmitter, You should test if it have failsafe when you do review as it is wery importent feature
