Can you have a private pilots license and fly a turboprop and get an IFR rating and all that? And can you go from being a private pilot to a ATP by changing your FAA Medical Certificate?

Turboprop aircraft over 12,500 lbs, requires a type rating. IFR rating is an add-on rating to your private pilot certificate and requires additional training. And just by getting a 1st class medicate certificate does not get you an ATP. There is a progression of certificates and ratings to obtain, and the ATP requires a written test, training, aeronautical experience and practical test.
