IFR Turkey: Elmali Field School

Hacımusalar is a multi-period archaeological settlement in the Elmalı Plain of SW Turkey. IFR students will join a team of professors, researchers and graduate students from Istanbul Technical University to investigate how climate change and paleoenvironmental changes affected past societies using scientific methods. This interdisciplinary paleo-environmental research involves conservation and restoration, geophysics, geoarchaeology, paleoenvironmental reconstruction, photogrammetry, archaeometry, anthropology, and information systems.
