In a democratic setting, you must lobby to achieve political positions, you can neither abuse nor bully people into voting you. . . Igbo politicians should learn to spread tentacles instead of playing regional politics, if Obi had been patient, he would have been managing as VP (to Atiku) while warming up to be the President in 2027

Igbos are not Nigeria, we can’t be Nigeria while others marginalized.

In as much as I appreciate you, saying Igbos are the most marginalised ethnic group is insulting. The Igbos are one of the most recognized tribes in Nigerian. In the South South Region their are tribes that are largely unknown and unrecognised. We are all Nigerian, there is no Nigerian that is more Nigerian than the other, as you often say but so many other tribes are not acknowledged.
@felixokeke74906 күн бұрын
Look, Igbo is one of the three major ethnic groups in Nigeria. Not to say that other ethnic groups are insignificant. But if one of the three major ethnic groups is treated as such, then what happens to the minor ones? And by the way, one of the minority tribes has produced a president (GEJ), and even the senate president in recent times, and all the minor tribes have at least six states in their geopolitical regions while the Igbos are restricted to only 5. Nnamdi Kanu and Eze ndigbo in Lagos are still incarcerated despite the court order to the contrary, but those who committed worse crimes (Asari dokubo who openly bragged abt exterminating Igbos while brandishing a weapon, bandits/terrorists, igboho, etc) are enjoying their freedom, and enlisted into the military, and sent to keep causing genocide in our region. Please, don’t pretend as if u don’t understand the drift of the woman’s argument, bcos it’s very annoying for u to do that.

All this narrative that the Igbos are the most marginalized group is something I’m starting to have an issue with. We have over 250 ethnic groups in this country, each dealing with their different problems. Even the Ogoni people who are mostly farmers, but have had their land devastated by various oil exploration. Why is nothing being said about them? And if it’s about public office, do you think we’d ever have an Ogoni president? The reality is, the Igbos are a majority. With 5 states. While the states all over the south south are basically dozens of ethnicities stuffed into each states. Which is like the 5 south eastern states, as there are other ethnicities in each of them, but the larger groups tends to be Igbos. Meaning each south south ethnicity are each combined to share one state, and now the great abaribe and ned is asking government to carve out delta state, and force the anioma people, a minority, who don’t want to be a part of the south east, into the south east. Because the south east, a majority that already has 5 states are marginalized. So you know. The anioma people have been clamoring for a state for years. They were ignored.

@dagee- Am from south-west, see from the bigger picture. One more state in the south will bridge the political equation a bit the north have over south. Is easier to get one more state for easterners than say one more state for south-west or south-south making either 7 states. Nobody even within the north will agree to that.

@@Peace-br6qm…thanks for the clarification; myopia is such a backwards engineer!! Until we start seeing the bigger picture that same language and culture does not guarantee good governance and progress; we will continue to flounder as a country! Like Tinubu or not, if the Anioma project works….that would be one of his better legacies🤨🧐
