Hurts to know that your 1st time in owerri (I guess?) people were rude to you. *sigh I'm from Imo state and I find that quite disappointing & unpleasant. Personally it's a turn off for me when pple are rude esp when you're dealing with strangers. It's just not nice. Sorry about that Tolani. Also I'd like to state that the sit at home is more like imposed cos it's not helping anyone nor businesses. Pple basically comply for their own safety and cos the govt here is well.. doesn't exactly have majority support of the pple. No reasonable resident or indigene of Imo state supports the sit at home. As much as we're fighting against marginalization of ndi Igbo in Nigeria, it isn't right to go about it in a way that stifles lives and businesses of ndi Igbo cos then what would be the point. So yh.. the sit at home is more like an imposition and the govt isn't exactly doing anything about it so pple hv no choice but to rather be safe.

Africans often whine and cry when westerners come to our shores with a patronising attitude so let's not do this when we blog about other African countries, towns or cultures. This blogger came across rather ignorant and condescending in parts. Not a good look. E.g. Saying hope the rich tea biscuit isn't stale, "I can't live here" just after arrival due to the sit at home strike for a day and saying she didn't know anything about the agitation prompting the sit at home action. If a foreigner blogged about Africa this way, we would complain about being uninformed, patronizing and western media showing only poverty in their footage etc. Let's do better please. I was cringing.
