Original Igbo people were brown to light skin people. They were never dark skin. They had to mix with the native dark skin black people they met when they or our ancestors arrived present-day Eastern Nigeria. So they mixed or blended with the majority dark skin natives resulting in the phenotype makeup you see today of 60% dark skin and 30-40% light to brown skin. How do you prove this? It's only in Igbo families and their brothers in Ibibio and other Biafran clans were dark skin parents can produce light skin children like mixed or biracial. It's doesn't happen with other tribes like Yorubas and Hausas. Why is this happening? Because you cannot cheat nature...nature will always try to revert back to what is original if you don't or stop tampering with it. They are called Beresheit and Devarim. So any similarities to the Latin terms have no connection to Judaism. There definitely are people among then that are sincere in their devotion to serving G-d and desire to be Jewish. You are both correct. For clarity... Ndigbo ancestor is found in Gen 10:21 and predates 'Israelites' and is their forefather. Israelites came from Ndigbo. There are controversies surrounding this subject even though I believe and know Igbos are descendants of Jacob, a few issues are ever present.
