I have a doubt if you don’t mind answering. My doubt is that I don’t understand question e. In some e parts, they give 1 mark for knowledge, 1 mark for application and 2 marks for analysis and 2 for evaluation as well. But there is another way an e part is marked which is 2 for Knowledge, 2 for analysis and 2 for evaluation . So I normally mess up in this, pls give me a tip to distinguish which question will be marked which way.

After the 2020 update I have not seen an (e) question with application required in the mark scheme. I have just checked the Nov 2020 mark schemes (just released) and each (e) question has this in the notes: "This is a general question so there are no marks for application."

Thank you for the question, if you are not sure look for a reference to the business in the case study in the question. If it's just a general question on "a business" or "a large business" there shouldn't be application marks. If there is a reference to "business ABC" or "Ed's coffee" or Donna's business then you need to include application. Good question - the mark scheme is usually quite comprehensive. It is up to the examiner to decide if you have fulfilled the criteria for each question.

Hi there, I appreciate it can appear as if you are getting conflicting advice. If you check the mark schemes you'll find what Cambridge is looking for in each question, and examples of what is acceptable to be awarded marks for knowledge.

Clear and concise is the most efficient way to score marks, however, all students have their own unique writing style and may need to write more in order to access all the points.
