Phrases like "I partnered with this company" or equating training materials to university education gives people who join language that makes feel less embarrassed when they explain to others what they do. If I run into a friend who is a college educated professional doing well for themselves, I might feel some inferiority about saying I'm in an MLM. Saying I've partnered with a financial education company sounds like I'm making real business moves.

I think the "third world country" comment about the $99 starter fee was to discourage people from even considering that option. On some iGenious calls I've heard, they don't even mention that option - I don't think the person who got you to sign up as a customer gets a commission if you pick that option.

Wow. The gall of this woman. The $99 package is there bc the FTC requires MLM companies to offer a starter kit that’s under $100. It wasn’t made for “third world countries.”
