No man, u always get the Chinese general's gun in the secret weapons lab, he picked it up from mission control from one of the towers on the borders of the base. Even I did that in my gameplay and still got David Jones rank.

If people have wondered how he got sniper, after started previous mission with general gun, he killed everyone and then came back to watch towers on the front and collected snipers. May be that gameplay he didn't posted here, may be it took lot of time or may be he alerted the guards.
