Locked Emotionz yeah, before the Ceph appear, but the pacing of the game was lame, compared to the second, even when it is on rails. Crysis Warhead in terms of storytelling completely shat on Crysis, and Crysis 2 shat on both of them.

Crysis 3 was somewhat of a train wreck. But Crysis 2 was among the best games of 2011 (or was it 2012?). Anyways, Crysis 2 was dumbed down only in aspect of sandbox world. Graphics, story, weapons, vehicles. Crysis 2 had all. I felt sorry for Crysis 3. I was really hyped up for it. But it shat on my expectations. But Crysis 2 wasn't the flop some people expected it to be.

I loved this game. One of the best FPS I have played on the PS3, even though it had some frame rate issues and bugs. The multiplayer was great also, even if finding a game takes a while and that it's difficult at start. The nanosuit is a great addition to the multiplayer aspect. Great single player as well.

I think this game needs a 8.5. The only reason you suffered bad frame rates on this game is because you played the console version. Assuming you have the right tech its fine on PC. And it seems like nobody mentioned the boring ending (a boss battle was non existent and the last gameplay section was just button mashing) or the fact that the AI and physics could be really crappy at some times.

Not at all. I went back and played the original after playing the other two on PC, and was hugely unimpressed. Repetitive combat scenarios, a lack of varied enemies, and pretty uninteresting weapons in both innovation and feel. I understand the appeal, but the latter two are definitely better.

emlmm88 yep, huge mechanical improvement from 1 to 2. The suit is stronger with more options, there's a real story, and the environment is way more detailed and destructive. 1 was great when it came out, but looking back it doesn't hold up to current shooters, as the enemies have 1 template face and movement, same with aliens, and it's just go from point a to b with a lot of leafs in yer way, no detail in that open world. 3 shit the bed, made it arcadey with enemy rooms and set pieces.

rampagesgrill84 And not to mention that it actually functions properly on 64 bit operating systems without artifacting or (like in my case) only taking advantage of a fifth of my GPU resulting in FPS dips below 40 which really shouldn't happen on a 780 ti. Just saying - it is a little bit sad when Crysis 3 runs better than the original Crysis with it's shitty antialiasing.

i had to play crysis 2 4 times to get it. i played it 4 times because it was so good. Story wise, especially if you look at the entire trilogy and the comics, it is interesting and great. It will be actually fun to just read the stories because they have actual depth and originality behind it.

Will Liang not really, i play on R7 370 with 8GB Ram and i5 and 1280x1024 and on Ultra can't run on 60 FPS, pretty limited, decent framerate but not the best.... Even at lauch had problems and the game uses cry-engine, one of the best engines among Frostbite!!

rdejano3 That's easy to answer, Crytek uses the Crysis series as a way to show off there engines so other companies will buy the right to use them. So effectively the Crysis series is just a very extravagant sales pitch for Crytek's software. So because they have Crysis 3 to show there engine Crysis 2 was no longer needed.

Of all the suit abilities in this game that are Worth upgrading the Whole node over are the ones assigned to the X(x-box) button: "Armor Enhance" "Nano Recharge" and "Deflection". The ones you really DO"NT need are "Proximity alarm", "Cloak Tracker","Air Friction", "Air Stomp" "Covert Ops and "Tracker" Now makes about half of the abilities near useless.And those floor lamps have no bulbs,the shade itself is luminous; got to get me one of those :)

How can you put framerate on that list? Played smoothly on my 360, and if it's stuttering on your PC it's probably on your end, trying to play a game it can't handle. And for a game with so much detail, how can you not expect that it might slow here and there? If they had made the framerate constant by lowering the texture detail, IGN would probably have said that the textures weren't pretty enough.

No, it's not at all unless you're using super high resolution or multimonitor. It's a bottleneck if you have to little, but if you have enough, it doesn't matter at all. Right now for single monitors, 2 GB is fine for most everything. 1 GB still works for most stuff.

I don't have anything against consoles but I enjoy the PC much, much more. Building a gaming PC is pricey, no doubt, you need at least 500$+ for a decent rig but in the long run, you save some money off of the much cheaper games and no need to pay for online suscriptions like Xbox Live. Another thing I love about PC gaming is how much more freedom you have with computer customizations and modifications for games. The superior technical visuals and graphics are nice too.

On a scale where Grand Theft Auto is 100 percent and Call of Duty is 0 percent, Crysis 1 was 60 percent open world whereas Crysis 2 is 40 percent. Both have fixed levels and chapters but both offer a degree of freedom to tackle each situation. Crysis 1 did offer more though, but don't believe those who say it was a "sandbox" game because it wasn't.

I bought this game from the Steam sale after I beat the first again. I run Crysis on max settings (2560x1440) at an average of 62 FPS. I run Crysis 2 on max (2560x1440) and get an average of 84 FPS. What is up with that? You'd expect it to be more demanding. Is it just better coding on the development side or is it really not as graphically demanding. I did notice this like depth of field and motion blur to be less noticeable.

The fact it takes 1k of investment to be able to play any high spec games in better than console graphics counters your arguement....there is virtually no lag on consoles (with exception of bethesda games) and games are much more casual.

The framerate is bad. It takes a while for some buildings and vehicles to appear. Although it shouldn't counted against it in the verdict since it never really affects your game play.

Its possible, crytek and Id software licence their engines all the time. The Unreal Engines, for instance, are extremely common in any game now because the creators licence it out to them.

So what is the story especially of this second part? Where did these aliens come from, what do they want? Why are they attacking the humans? Why New York? Why are the CELL soldiers attacking you while there is an alien invasion? Who is Alcatraz and what happened to him? How come Prophet just jumps out at the end?

Visually game is amazing. Didn't particularly like the controls that much, not the worst. Enemies took way to much damage. Felt like it took a whole clip to kill three guys. What really bugs me and is very noticeable is that the character camera is about 2' of the ground. Average is around 3 but most late titles on 360, ps3 are built more ture scale so playing this made me constantly feel like I was crawling on the floor. Story wasn't that great either. Felt like I got more enjoyment out of wondering around looking at shit on the island the actually going to the rally point to start the mission. This game was overall put down several times by me in favor of more interesting games I had on my list.
