I'm having a blast with Stalker 2. You guys have to repair your guns. When they're worn they hardly do any damage. The game has been running fine for me. I'm 20 hours in with no issues with quests.

Forgot to mentioned PS fixed the portals Micro stuttering problem. The portal ran at 59.94fps soo after a few seconds the .06 would build up making it stutter. Remote play is buttery smooth now on the 8inches of screen. Also you do NOT have to be home to play. With the update it runs massively better, like anywhere where you can connect online.

There should be separate categories for dlc/expansions, remakes and remasters. If a game won game of the year a previous year and then a big dlc/expansion comes out for it then it should either be in a different category or just not nominated. Plus lets be honest the awards themselves are only really for the developers and publishers , journalists and just regular players watch the game awards mainly for the announcements and reveals not for the actual awards

56:46 just got my steam deck about a week ago and am play Half-Life 1 for the 1st time. Played a bunch of multiplayer LAN as a kid but never got to play the story. Can definitely see why it was so praised back in the day

Simply put, no, it's DLC, not a full game IE it cannot be played on it's own, without the full game. This has robbed another deserving game from a nomination. Give DLC etc a separate category.

Shadow of the Erdtree is my best gaming experience of the year but it does not deserve Game of the Year. Implicit in GOTY is that a game needs to be new and standalone and to suggest otherwise is disingenuous. Daemon is being shortsighted, you can't just allow exceptions to rules you believe in because they benefit you because next time the exception may not.

The requirements for game of the year usually have a date range that the game had to be released in. DLC is extra content for a game that already came out. It literally should not qualify because it means elden ring gets a second chance for GOTY which is unfair considering it didnt come out this year

It released this year. You could not play it prior to June 2024. Extra content doesn’t make it not new or any less of a video game. DLC runs the gamut from horse armor to expansions. Having something as massive and quality as SotE in DLC category is dumb.

if we talking PS portal vs Logitech gcloud the choice is easy the gcloud does everything the portal does plus 10x more. you can find them at the same price if you willing to look around but the small extra effort is worth it as its battery is also way better.

The second season of a show would be elligible for BEST SHOW THIS YEAR. It's the new game's worth of content made this year that's being nominated. If you played Elden Ring already you already have instant access to the content. If you didn't, you should play the whole intro ANYWAY as a new player before they give you the freedom to just go play all the Erdtree content, which could then be the only game you play all year because there's 50-100 hrs of content
