And neither is Indiana Fever fans or CC fans in general. I want to see all accounts of alleged racism - hate and threats. Alex Stein99 trolling brittany griner, and online trolls saying slick shiii against openly racist women that behave like toxic & jealous little girls… that ain’t racism. And mockery isn’t racism either! I’ve seen only criticisms and hate coming from white/hetero hating WNBA players since she was drafted. Not online death threats and 1958 Jim Crow racism by fans like what is being portrayed by media outlets

@@otisthomas9976 That does not make any sense. You are not saying the WNBA did not experience racism until 2024 when Clark fans showed up? PLEASE DON’T. Next, I don't have any idea why you are talking about ya’ll??? I have followed the WNBA from its inception. I followed LIBERMAN the first woman who played in the NBA!!! Rooted for the First woman’s Olympic basketball team… Been a life long hooper and fan of the game. So please don’t…. Your point is absent of logic. The WNBA has been riddled with racism from the start. That is in part the reason why the it became a predominate black woman lesbian league. My you all referred to the people who now want to blame racism on the FEVER FAN BASE and a 22 year old woman who never supported or tolerated racism. A woman who has uplifted the vets before her, who has acknowledged current players, and who has never said or done a negative thing to anyone. That is my problem as a 70 year old BLACK man who has lived thru the bowels of racism, bigotry, and the race riots of the 60, 70s, 80s, as well as seen first hand racial injustice while serving as a VIETNAM VET. With 5 daughters, three who played ball, and four sons, all who played ball, you have got to miss me as being a novice Clarke fan who just started following basketball and don.t know or care about the women's sport of basketball! Heck 99% of adults won.t allow anyone to tell them what to do. So how can anyone tell another adult they should stop racism. Rubbish. If people have a problem with trolls, they should do what they have been doing for the past 27 years for the MERCURY, ACES, MYSTICS, SKY trolls from the rest of the league. Report them to the police. Since 1997, no one got on TV shaming any other pro ( A’JA, Taurasi, Bird, Leslie, Parker, etc ) to be responsible for the TROLLS OF THE INTERNET. I say trolls because fans don’t engage like that. So give CAITLIN a rest. They are upset CAITLIN is getting paid. They fail to realize that Reese, Clark, JUJU, Page, and the rest of today’s women are in a different place entering the league. These women are coming with a fanbase or following from college. They, in most cases, are getting paid more in college thru NIL deals than WNBA PLAYERS make right now… Look at JUJU. I believe Nike just signed her to the biggest contract in sports for her shoe deal, THE LANDSCAPE is different and these old head players better get fluid and catch the wave or be left behind. Same thing happened in football. Old heads got upset when players were making a whopping 100,000 dollar in the early 70s when the old heads made between 7 to 15,000 per yar. Most had to take on a second or third jobs to make ends meet. So they played and gave their body to the game and felt passed by and used. They, like the WNBA players, were short sighted. There must always be a CATALYST TO spearhead change that raised ALL BOATS: Kapernick, Tiger Woods, Serena Williams, Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, Flo Jo, Joe Nammoth, Jackie Robinson, and now Caitlin Clark. So folks must stop blaming for what people have not done and start uplifting people on their merit just as they desire to be treated,

She says "give her time...." because she wants to insinuate that Caitlin agrees with the implied obligation to take on this task in the first place. She would have a valid place to say "give her time...." if Caitlin overtly states that she wants to take on the role of problem solver. Which would be an impossible task to begin with. But she has no place to say "give her time..." because she doesn't have any sincere motivations behind her thoughts about what Caitlin is planning on doing with her position as the main star of the WNBA. She's saying "give her time..." to leave room for criticizing her later if Caitlin doesn't do what she wants her to do. If I said give her time, it would only be in the context of Caitlin has the option to do what ever she wants to do as the star of the WNBA. If she wants to use a platform, give her time to decided and organize what she wants to do, while she's just trying to play ball. If she just wants to play ball and be gracious to fans when she gets a chance to interact, let her do that. Just coming across as a nice person is enough for any athlete. They're not obligated to do more. Anything more is an option they can accept or decline.

Marcellus is right on point. Being an activist against racism is not this young lady’s responsibility. I respect and appreciate anyone that wants to do something to benefit humanity. I do wonder how racism even exists when there’s technically only “one race” which is the “Human Race”. There’s truth that certain people are treated unjustly, even to the point of the actions against them being described as evil. However that behavior is so deeply rooted in our society that the awareness of the concept of divide and conquer is of great importance in limiting racism. The actions of respecting and lifting people up with care no matter your differences is more important than what you say. Action speaks louder than words.

The more eyes on you the more scrutiny you will get, positive and negative. Move on. People can't tell others how to act. Caitlin Clark is just playing ball and getting more attention to the WNBA. Isn't that what they want? WNBA just needs to change the attitude of its people. Too much trying to push out narratives and playing the victim role. Play clean ball.
@marcelluswileydatdude
@marcelluswileydatdude Ай бұрын
Exactly! More attention means more scrutiny, and that’s just part of it. Caitlyn's role is to play ball and boost visibility for the WNBA, which is positive. The league should focus on the sport and drop the narratives-playing clean ball should be the priority!

Marcellus - I agree with you, raising our children is about providing a safe and strong framework (at home, work, school) that is buttressed by our actions which demonstrate our core values. They can then live those values as they choose even as they make mistakes and DEVELOP into productive members of their community. Hot air and vague slogans mean nothing. As I was taught - it’s not the stuff you say in church, it’s what you do when you hit the door. Thanks for your show.

She needs to simply drop out of the WNBA. Start a series of Pay per view 3-point shot specials versus retired NBA players. Do the talk talk talk pre-game build up, then the 3 point game, then the post-game trash talk, then the next special build-up. Then a quick shot of her pushing the wheel barrel full of money

CC shouldn't say anything. She is light years beyond this meow. She doesn't need the WNBA. The WNBA needs her. A new league will be formed and/or she can play in Europe. She can also go play golf. She does not need this cat fighting. She has plenty of money. CC doesn't need these freeloaders in her life.

Funny thing about it is earlier in the conversation, they discussed having the option to just not pay attention to social media even if it's become a norm to so many people. It's pretty much what CC has decided to do and probably a wise move on her part. She hasn't addressed what people have been saying on social media because she's not paying attention to it. The more spotlight you get, like the WNBA has this season, the more stupid takes are going to appear, even in the men's leagues. It all comes with the territory.
