Good film. Well done. A couple lessons to be learned. Don't put total trust in someone because they did you a favor. There's often a reason for the favor. Not always a good reason. And keep copies of things. There are those that might want to get rid of some things. The written word is not always what everyone wants.

This is a great film, and a warning. A few quibbles. 1)Any mattress abandoned in a derelict building with be chewed up, covered by mouse dropping and unusable, after only a few years! 2)If Gio was bright enough to make a splint, he could have fashioned a crutch, and greatly increased their mobility. 3) More candles than either Zeffirelli's or Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet films combined. 4) The access/key for the gun lock-box has a major blooper. Andrea locks up the gun and takes the key, next scene shows Andy with the gun from the locked box that he didn’t have the key for, ( how many keys are there?) then later, he unlocks the box and finds the gun missing… too many keys! Otherwise- Great B&W&Blue filming choice. Very realistic dialogue scripting for Andrea and Gio. Great winter sets, decent acting, and the theme of book-burning and anti-intellectualism (the title) is so chilling, given the political climate in the US as of April 2023. The last 8 minutes of the film is bleak. A very well done and watchable film all-together!!

Thanks for your kind words and feedback, interesting thoughts. The mattresses were indeed gross (for real) but were covered with relatively clean blankets that andrea/gio carried around in their backpacks. Re: candles, yes you're right it's over the top lol but sorta necessary to film a scene using only candlelight, and obviously to evoke the romantic vibe. re: crutch maybe he wanted to be her crutch to get close to her gain her trust. re:keys, most safes come with two keys, for safety, as did this one. but i tried to mislead to make it seem like there was only one key, when there was in fact two that Andrea and Gio carried at all times - Alex assumed that gio killed andrea, stole her key and stole the gun. But he was wrong about that.

Thanks this was one of my favorite scores I've done, a lot of it inspired by the shining and there will be blood (a lot of composers contributed, but especially the work of gene wright and Michael Vignola) very dark and classical cinematic, but I liked ending it on an electronica/techno note in the closing credits to imply the AI is coming back

A great film. I watched closely to see if I could find anything out of place. I don't know how long the APOCALYPSE has been going on in this film. I'm assuming it just didn't happen. With this assumption, here are a couple of thoughts: 1. The shovel used on the beach scene, shot at the end looked new. I would go to an antique store to pick up any tools used in your films, so they are tattered and beaten. 2. Haircuts look fairly current. In a real long-term SHTF, haircuts would be uncommon. 3. Clothes look like they were fairly new, but purposely gotten dirty so they would fit the timeline of the APOCALYPSE. Think about buying old vintage clothing in future Apocalyptic Films. You all did a great job, so please don't let my opinions take away from this greatly done film. Nice job!

Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed. The clothes were all old and used, bought from a second hand store, then dirtied up, torn, stained etc. none of it was fairly new. But yeah I wish I could find an older shovel, but they dont sell those anywhere around here unfortunately, it was the oldest i could find!

But I wanted to cast a girl that seemed a bit vulnerable, petite, long hair who gets a broken leg. So that she has reason to seek "help" from gio and so that we, as an audience, worry about her.

I can see both sides of this conflict, and I think that Ai is dangerous. Look what happened. A frightful story about knowledge. We can only hope things go better the second time around, right?

Love this. We wanted to tell a story that's morally ambiguous, especially by the end, to hopefully provoke some thought. I remember a quote about how drama works, "it's when both sides are right, but there is still conflict." That's what we were going for here.

A lot of good stuff here, production, story and acting better than most. ONE problem with nearly all productions though is SOUND. No matter what YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO HEAR THE ACTORS even if whispering in a hurricane. This might 'violate' video makers purity, and will require REPEATED edits, without head phones with a standard TV at least 15 feet away for 'speaker'. Whenever you are doing unrealistically loud speech, think instead that it's an 'acoustic tunnel vision' the characters are experiencing due to signifcance of scene, dialog etc..Then messing around with volumes becomes noble artistic vision.

I liked the film but it never delves into the food issue. These are people who don't know about airplanes, which means there wouldn't be any edible food like we see in the "Walking Dead" shows. This is one or two or more generations after society collapsed. This is a major weak point in the show.

Good short film. The way our world is right now, it’s definitely heading towards an apocalypse. This is why I’m a prepper. I’m tryna stock up as much food, water, gas, medicine, medical kit, and weapons as I can before shit hits the fan.
