Boy oh boy, I'm glad I'm not the only person having issues with this puzzle 😅 I don't generally find myself needing to use walkthroughs, but having something this obtuse less than 5 minutes into a game is very strange. A reset button for this section would help a bucket load (instead of needing to reload the previous checkpoint) and I think the correct pods should have been made a touch more distinct, with most things being a similar colour they're a tad tricky to differentiate. Here's hoping this is the only walkthrough most people will have to use for this game 🤞

What distinguishes the correct pods is that they have two little lights on them. And you **must** load the single pod first and watch it be rejected… yeah, the puzzles don’t really make sense.

@@happyspaceinvader508 Oh don't worry, I did end up spotting the lights on the objective pods but for someone like with me with not-so-great eyesight who plays with a wider FOV, they were a bugger to make out the first time interacting with the puzzle 😅 if they were made a little brighter or bigger, I think it'd help a lot with readability. For sure too, this puzzle doesn't make a lot of sense. With the machinery breaking and discarding the first pod, it seems to end up confusing people a fair bit. Was that the wrong pod? Did I do something right? If there was something in that pod, did it get dumped somewhere and I have to go find it? I'm all for exploration and trial & error, but a game really should communicate results and actions more clearly to whoever's playing for that to work.

At least you got that far. I scoured every inch of this level for an hour before looking this video up, I completely missed the other control on the right that moves the pods. Then I fucked myself over moving the pods and had to restart the game to reset the puzzle.

They REALLY needed to make it more obvious which pod we were supposed to be grabbing. I thought the pod that breaks was the one I was supposed to be grabbing and since nothing else worked I kept reseting the checkpoint thinking I had missed a step and had to find a way to not break the egg. A zoom feature would have helped to see the pods on the far wall better, but they should have made the one good pod glow or something to make it obvious. Obnoxiously slow animations to try every button doesn't help either

I don’t understand the logic of this puzzle within the game world: why does the crane drop the first egg that has lights on it? Why does the other egg work? Is this just to troll us? Or to make us think we’re on the wrong track for solving the puzzle? If you’re going to put puzzles in your game… they need to obey some consistent rules within the game world.

The main problem with this puzzle is there is no way to reset it if you fuck around with it first. Now no matter what guide I look at, it doesn't help now. I get the merit of this game, and I love the atmosphere, but it's just not for me. Maybe when I was younger and had more free time but the last thing I want to do after a hard day of work is mess with this shit. Especially when the entire game is pretty much this shit from what I've read.

This puzzle legit made me angry. 10 minutes in and I'm already completely stumped, not knowing why I'm trying to solve a generic ass sliding block puzzle in such a bizarre alien world, having no idea that the eggs with the tiny glowy bits on them are the ones you're supposed to drag over to the crane, and then running downstairs to try to find the remnants of the first egg because I thought maybe there's an item I'm supposed to pick up, and circling around over and over again because there were no remnants, then going back up and spending half an hour trying to get the other stupid ass egg over--which led me to this video because my lack of patience outweighed my pride and I couldn't be bothered to waste any more time on it. Really NOT the best way to introduce your game. I'll wager 90% of those who tried it on Game Pass gave up right at this moment.

Nothing's wrong with you. It's been more than a half year since I encountered it - and I've since made reference to it as an instance of incredibly bad game design. Same goes for those cybervoid puzzles in Ghostrunner. Ruins the entire flow of the experience. And yes - introducing a puzzle like this 5 minutes into the game is ridiculous. Thank God for refunds.

@@StarRider587there is a difference between difficulty and just being ambiguous and unclear. After I figured out the solution to the puzzle, I didn’t feel accomplished because it wasn’t even a hard puzzle. It was just confusing as to what you were supposed to do to solve it.

It took me like 5 or 10 minutes to figure it out and took me less time to figure out what egg sac thing I was supposed to move, but it really wasnt as difficult to figure out as some people made it out. It just took fiddling with the sac things and some brainpower. The puzzle is literally just Rush Hour. I also doubt the first puzzle in the game is meant to be that hard. I took it as moreso introducing the player to how the game approaches puzzles, which is "figure it out we aint holding your hand. Youre a big kid, now."
