It was good hard football. Wish the game was still like that. Don't forget we had players who didnt shy away from tackles like that. Vieira, Winterburn, Adams, Keown, Campbell. Heck even Bergkamp said he often went in too hard on footballers he didn't like.
@paulharper41963 жыл бұрын
I agree to some extent but a couple of those tackles were red cards all day long, in the modern game urd would have had about 3 red cards, Keanes "tackle" on Vieira was a red card even back then. But, old Trafford, early noughties, never gonna happen.
@alloutattack-13 жыл бұрын
@@scottses3 lol granit xhaka got the ball and got red carded when he got the ball, these days arsenal players get red carded easily, not supporting xhaka but there are a lot of red card tackles being overlooked by the same refs
@Kal-el0874 жыл бұрын
For the younger fans, when Ruud dived for a penalty against Keown we all held our breaths. Because in those days those are actually given to United. The slightest fouls against them are yellow cards, but they can hack you down and get away with nothing. The refs gifted United at least 2 EPL titles it’s a disgrace.
@manhquannguyen10074 жыл бұрын
Could you tell me more details about 2 supposed titles? I think you're talking about 2 seasons between 1998 to 2001, but I was too young then to know about Arsenal (I was born 1995, and the first time I came to know Arsenal was 2004/05 season).
@mclaren855 Жыл бұрын
@@manhquannguyen1007 it was horrible, extremely biased umpiring in those days in favor of united. They were a good team but had a free hand to murder teams on the field, just look around tackles around 5 minutes or so in the clip. That was usual for them. Even the 50 th match that invincibles lost, the first and the more important goal (first goals are always important, 2nf was bound to happen because arsenal was forced to hold a high line as they were losing) was gifted to them through a penalty. Rooney was about two or three feet away from anyone when he dived to get that penalty. If VAR was a thing back then, arsenal would have won a couple more titles easily.
