I opened up this sheet music the other day, previously too intimidated to even look at it. But I followed the notes while listening to you play in this video. I was able to enjoy music in a way I haven't experienced in a very long time. Now, to practice one note, one phrase, one piece at a time. Thank you for this inspiration.

When learning something difficult, see if this helps: learn the ending - the last phrase. Then learn the phrase before that, then keep adding stuff in front of what you know, until you are well into the middle. Then if you want, go back to the beginning and learn into the centre. Or just keep adding stuff in front of what you know til you reach the beginning. Psychologically, it changes the nature of the challenge to something more manageable.

A wonderful performance of this very challenging piece! Stravinsky's 3 pieces for clarinet sounded great! I played the 3rd piece on alto saxophone and found it translated well.

I love this piece, and I hope to perform it someday. What kind of barrel do you use? I like it!

@annelienvanwauwe4 жыл бұрын
Hallo Justus Niemeyer, danke!
