This is a beautiful song with such a wonderful ending with such a lovely video of Green ( Paul his real name. ) going around the town of Usk in Monmouthshire, South Wales and going into the Royal Hotel.

So , at 4:20 close your eyes and drink in this spectacular end to a beautiful song, listen closely to the bass guitar, the drums, the synth, the violin intro the acoustic guitar and enjoy every single moment, you don't want it to end .

At 4:20 of this song I was cruising in my car in steady traffic, looking over silhouetted mountains into a brilliant setting sun in a cloudless sky...from seemingly nowhere, a magic moment came together, perfectly timed... and you are right, I didn't want it to end.

Brushed with oil, dusted with powder The day began to decline A broken door, hotel bedroom The sun cut through the blind (oh but I tell you) The officer asked "how did it start?" Oh shit, "you I wish I knew" I said "On Highbury Fields, the Westside Highway Or here in the Hollywood hills" In a black and white, to Orange County The sky was a beautiful blue A pack of lights 'n some keys they found there They wondered how much I knew (oh but I tell you) The officer asked "how did it start?" Oh shit, "you I wish I knew" I said "On Highbury Fields, the Westside Highway Or here in the Hollywood hills" And yes, it's over And yes, oh the powerful have found me It was beautiful to see It was how I'm meant to be It was love, no matter what they say It's wonderful to be here Abraham, my father, had a girl he called his angel I made my excuses and I like the way it feels The officer asked "how did it start?" Oh shit, "you I wish I knew" I said "On Highbury Fields, the Westside Highway Or here in the Hollywood hills" And yes, it's over And yes, oh the powerful have found me It was beautiful to see It was how I'm meant to be It was love, no matter what they say It's wonderful to be here

I've listened to this song and I still don't get it. I hope it all comes to me, some day, maybe soon. It's a beautiful, dark song. Why isn't Green writing with Dave Gamson and Bill Maher again?
@RS-on5zg4 жыл бұрын
It is a mystery, but I think one key is the line about Abraham. Going out on a limb here, but it suggests it's an incest murder story told by a teenager, and the cops don't think she did it.
