Thank you so much, I was so close to downloading some potentially harmful programms. But thank god, I found this video before and now I found out about these super useful macro function! And reducing the volume of +800 files didn't sound like fun to me! ^^

Thanks for the walkthrough. Using this to batch process a a bunch of podcasts to speed them up for my old school mp3 player (select all - change tempo + 64.5 - export mp3). It's running in the background now. I used to do this manually on Sound Forge Audio Studio 10, but from what I can tell I can't batch process there. Looks like audicity can do the batch process, and your tutorial was a great step-by-step. thank you

Thanks for tip @Eric. I have never used Audacity before. will be looking out for more tutorials. What distro are you running and environment I really like that theme and how light that brown is it's so beautiful not too dark of brown.

Definitely worth checking out Audacity. It's pretty fantastic for audio work. I am running Cinnamon on a stock Arch install with the Mint themes installed. The one in the video is the Brown variant. The wallpaper is a random colorized image of Jupiter. github.com/linuxmint/mint-themes

thank you! i have ~20 lecture files which i got from youtube and the speaker's style is pretty unique with a lot of silences in between words. audacity's truncate silence effect makes it so much more understandable. and now i can automatize the process.

have a folder containing about 500 .aup3 files with beats are marked. I could export the labels and get the .txt file containing annotations for a single .aup3 file but I have got so many.. so do you possibly know any way to do it in a single go? exporting labels for each file is too tedious..
@Max_811 Жыл бұрын
If you can't find the exported files, then it will probably be in Documents/Audacity/

Do you have an export line in your macro? I just tested using one that has "Change Pitch" and "Export MP3", apply it to files, select a bunch of files, click Open and it goes through each file, imports it, applies the pitch change, and exports the file as an MP3 in a subfolder named "macro-output".

It's not working for me, for some reason. It just fast-lists the source files, but doesn't process each file, nor does it create a new folder for the processed files. The originals are not altered at all. 'Anyone have an answer?

Is there a Command to change the volume (Gain) on the left side on the track (under "Mute", "Solo" with the - and + sign)? Is it possible to export a audio-file from multiple importet audio-files, so that those exportet audio-files are differently mixed in volume? E.g.: Export-Configuration 1: - Audio-Lane 1: 100% (Volume) - Audio-Lane 2: 30% (Volume) - Audio-Lane 3: 30% (Volume) Export-Configuration2: - Audio-Lane 1: 80% - Audio-Lane 2: 100% - Audio-Lane 3: 20% Export-Configuration3: ... But with even more Auio-Lanes and Export-Configurations! Because I need to edit those Audio-Lanes and export them again in those Export-Configurations. And it takes way to much time to adjust all Volumes each time again for all those Export-Configurations.

Does anyone know how to switch track with Macro's? I need to change the pitch of 2 tracks in one project (different pitches), and i'm not sure how to do it
@EricAdamsYT5 жыл бұрын
Take a look at the macro UI. The Insert option when creating a macro lists a number of track specific items related to switching to (i.e. move to track) or selecting a track (select track). Is this what you mean?
@HidesFromSun5 жыл бұрын
@@EricAdamsYT I think that's it, yes, that's definitely helped, thank you. Sadly though I still can't get it to work properly. I need to load the file > Duplicate it > Select the first track > change the pitch > Export The Macro i'm trying to use is Select All Duplicate Move Focus to First Track Change Pitch (-10) Export as WAV For some reason though it's sounding different than when i'm doing it manually, and i'm not sure why
@EricAdamsYT5 жыл бұрын
@@HidesFromSun I assume you are using the same setting when you are performing this step manually, correct? I'll see if I can duplicate this.
@HidesFromSun5 жыл бұрын
@@EricAdamsYT Yeah that's right. Thank you, let me know how you get on :)
@EricAdamsYT5 жыл бұрын
@@HidesFromSun I played around with this a bit and I'm not sure why you are duplicating the track. I think that's what's causing the difference is sound. What's happening in that there are two tracks, both have the filter applied and it is creating an odd distortion because of it. I created a macro that 1) Select All 2) Change Pitch 3) Export2 (filename and path and 1 channel). This gives me a wav copy of the original with the pitch adjustment and it sounds the same as doing it manually.
