This was a battle over territory. The large iguana was obviously male and in rut based on the orange coloration of his extremities. I would suspect that the smaller ig was another male. Had it been a female the story would have played out differently! Iguanas do not eat one another. They are primarily vegetarians...

This happens all the time in nature and iguanas actually shouldn't eat meat so he wouldn't have eaten him because it will result in severe kidney problems and possible premature death if eats to much meat. But let's say you want to get defensive he might have just been getting territorial because iguanas are very territorial of their immediate environment a quick Google search could have told you that.
