If push-pull technique is used for the Shatabdi, then its acceleration can be quite comparable to the Vande Bharat Express. Right now Push Pull technique is used in CSMT-Nizamuddin Rajdhani (22221/22222) and its a hit in saving quite a lot of time by reaching the stations 20-30 minutes early in certain cases.

@@HappyHappy-tv3vp this is because WAP 5 is capable of higher top speed...it can easily reach 180 kmph..a WAP 7 cannot do that..also WAP 7 is a WAG 9 loco with a change in gear ratio..hence it is capable of hauling more coaches but at a higher speed..WAP 5 cannot haul 24 coaches at that speed..hence only very elite trains are hauled by it..hence duranto rajdhani which requires 24 coaches to be hauled at 130 kmph is assigned a WAP 7 loco

Technically, Railways wouldn't allow passenger trains to race between them nor the drivers of the trains try to do so, therefore a real comparison is never possible until Railways exclusively race them on empty tracks officially but even then that's so not happening!!
