Exploring most beautiful rail route in Indian Railways

I am a native of Barak Valley. As such, I have been travelling in this route since long. In October 1973 , I made my maiden journey from Silchar to Bombay VT (now Mumbai CSTM) via Badarpur, Lumding, Guwahati, Barauni, Allahabad, to join the Indian Navy as a direct entry sailor. Althouth at present I am permanently residing in Kolkata, I occasionally travel on this route to visit my relatives/friends who are residing there. I always enjoy very much to travel on this route. I exprerss my sincere thanks for making such a beautiful VIDEO. Eagerly waiting to find a new video covering the route from Badarpur Jn to Agartala on this section.

Haflong is my childhood place, New Haflong is a current name, but in past Haflong has 2 stations, called "Lower Haflong" and "Haflong Hill", I have spent 21 years of my life in Haflong, and in Badarpur I have spent 9 years of my life, and in Guwahati I have spent 6 years. Now I am in Silchar for rest of my life. So obviously I frequently travelled in this route. And Thank you for showing this journey..

I have traveled in this route about 35 years back in my childhood when this route from Guwahati to Silchar was metre guage and the famous trains were Barak Valley Express and Cachhar Express. Now even Rajdhani is running in this route after broad guage was introduced. The train journey during those days were adventurous and enjoyable but not that comfortable as its now.

I used to travel in 12423/24 NDLS DBRT Rajdhani Express from Dimapur(DMV) to Kanpur Central(CNB) from 2004-2009 (that time it was ofcourse old Red and Yellow ICF coached) and 2015-20 and Guwahati at that time was not electrified. The scenes at Guwahati station has changed. I remember living in Lumding and how many life have been sacrificed to make this Halflong Line.

Half-long is the only Hill station in Assam..mein paheli bar 2011 mein Agartala se jab Meter gadge train mein Dimapur ja raha tha tab subha 5 baje Half-long mein train ruki tho...bakeyhi mein Half-long station bohot bohot khubsurat hein😍

My home is in this region and I have travelled 15 to 16 times in this route and even when it was in meter gauge this is one of the best routes OF IR in my opinion 💓

I agree, back in those times the dayang bridge of mg route was very famous before lower half long stn. And currently the bg line in the jatinga Valley is in Eastern Bank and mg line was on west Bank of jatinga, it was different joy back then, ppl used to stand on roofs...

Hi @airforcelover9306 I too served in Indian Air Force I was posted to Silchar my 2nd posting 1st was after Training@Belgaon to Agra serving 1977 to 1983sep moved to #Silcher year 1983 then meter gauge from Guwati to #Silcher was so exciting all the route was so amazing nature beauty 2years posting but travelled in this route up and down 16times Imy 3rd posting Mumbai after 2years My friends told me to get 2more years I DID A BLUNDER I did not took additional 2years posting That might been a blessing Any how Many a time I thought to settle either #Silcher or #kumbigram I did a big mistake I repent When ever I get video of Assam I view to get solace Mumbai life I don't know What Modern India as it is hyped Train Fares and living conditions Have you ever think #80crore free ration struggling Rest #TikTok lovers I may be alone Majority of your thinking your choice But I love those years In my stay I flown to most of North Eastern Areas My Trade advantage took me to Forward post to supply stores I never will erase my days of living Thanks dear You too hope from.#airforce serving or An-Ex God Bless I could not control myself This new route totally Rubbish may be those not known the ERA of meter gauge ran through a nice nature route I cant accept BG route Old is gold

Agartala -- Jiribam -- Khongchan ( Manipur ) route bhi bahut sundar hai . Manipur me tallest pier railway bridge complete honewala hai . 11 km lamba railway tunnel bhi complete ho gaya hai .
