Aap ki video bohot saal se dekh raha hun, but kabhi comment nahi kia. I was also born in Varanasi and bachpan me kabhi kabhi second class me travel karna padta tha from Howrah to Varanasi during School holidays. Struggle abhi bhi vaisa hi hai kuch logon k liye. Ab desh se 10,000 km videsh me baitha hun ,lekin video dekh k purani baat yaad agayi. Aur last me jo baat kahi aapne, us se ye pata chalta hai ki baaki duniya ko dekho to hum log kitne lucky bhi hain jo ab wo waqt dekhna nahi padta. Aap k 1 taraf k Safar k paise me kisi ka ghar ek mahine chal sakta hai. A sad and true reality. Thank you for your work.

Hi Sandeep: Very nice video of journey (part 1) from Dibrugarh to Lalgarh. Brings back memories of the many trips I made between Guwahati & Delhi in the mid "80s. The North East Express was the premier train in those days. it really speaks to the kindness of your heart how distressed you were when you were describing how passengers in the general class travelled long distances in very tough conditions.

The "taalab" behind many houses are called pukurs (पुकुर) in W. Bengal & possibly in NE as well. They have fish there since fish is an important part of the regular diet in those parts of the country.

A very informative video. It throws light on the difficulties of common people who have to travel long distances with much difficulties,but no other option.The cost of travelling has increased many fold in recent years so large number of people cannot afford private transport (like bus etc)

Mariani Jn was my Rly Stn from 1975 to 1979 ( 4yrs) during my stay at Jorhat and traveling to go my home town Hyderabad. Those days changing trains from meter gauge to Broad guage at New Boingiagaun. It was tired some journey those days with no proper food to reach Hyderabad after 3 to 4 days . Now Indian Railways network improved with good facilities & connecting trains through out India.

Assamese people who are living in villages have a lake in the backside of their home. These lakes are basically for two main causes. Num 1 is to fulfill water needs at times of scarcity and another one is to tame fishes. Don't confuse that we Assamese drink the same water where we keep the fishes. Separate lakes are used.

Kamakhya se nikalne k bad hi Meghalay ki ekmatra railway station Mendipathar ka route ate hai . Kamakhya se ek route via Goalpara hote hue New Mynaguri ( West Bengal ) tak jate hai ( ye route New Bongaigaon janewale route se alog ho jati hai )
