Clinically speaking it’s a lot more than that. Mental Health funding is the number one budget cut in federal and state budgets. Every single person has at least one mental health diagnosis. Depression and anxiety are mental health disorders and many people have that. More funding would keep people with nonviolent mental health disorders out of state prisons for individuals who have cooccurring mental illness and substance abuse disorders which per the DSM-5 is classified as a mental health disorder.
