IIDX 4th Style (A03 JA A01)

The tag line has changed from "Welcome to the CYBER-beat-NATION" to "Trip the deep." The intro movie has been changed completely to reflect the new style, although the audio remains the same. A new mode, "easy" mode, is added to the key-based modifiers, and some other modifiers are rolled into the same key. The interface remains largely unchanged, looking very similar to IIDX 3rd Style. The major improvement seems to be additional music. Lots of the weirder but more iconic music has been dropped from the series by IIDX 4th style which starts to set the tone for a more mainstream soundtrack going forward.

Seems like the video kkclue made on the series gave it a bit of life here in the US. It's what got me to buy a Japanese PS2 and eventually get all of the 5-key games and IIDX 3rd-10th Style. Over in Japan, it's still super popular and is currently on its 30th release of IIDX.

Well, duh. beatmania IIDX is still a flagship game of BEMANI Series, and recently released beatmania IIDX 31 EPOLIS.
