As per the question paper, in one of the MCQs (match the following) they have mentioned that the composition of norite is Plag+opx+-cpx. If we consider this composition then basalt can be volcanic equivalent of norite too, isn't it?

Norite and gabbro both are maffic rock ok but their composition is not same one contain opx where as another ( gabbro) contain cpx ... But the real thing is basalt contain calc plg plus cpx just like gabbro has.
