Of course, passions can change over the course of one's life, but I'd rather these people make some contribution to science and technology that can be of benefit to our nation or to the entire humanity, before they throw away that opportunity and settle in a field that's totally unrelated to what they learnt. Using IITs as a backup, is IMHO, a grave injustice to the thousands of genuinely passionate engineers who could've done wonders to this world, had they had the fortune to avail the facilities of these institutes.

Aur upsc jaise exam ki preparation kar rahe to kuch security honi chahiye ya nhi? . Aur kya pata unne bachpan me pcm apni marzi se Li hi na ho. Kya pata parents ne dilwa di hi. Aur koi iit seat waste na ho jaaye isiliye koi apni life vo kaam thodi karega ho use psnd na ho. Har koi sabse phele apne baare me sochta hai na ki desh ke baare me. Aur Agar dhanka Paisa de govt. To koi bhi Jana chahega research me. India me research karna mtlb apne pair pr kulhadi marna. Na Paisa milta hai. Na respect. IISER ke saare log bahaar hi jaate hein research karne. Ye proof hai ki india me research culture accha nhi hai.

​@@RoseGautam-sw6ly Well, obviously, neither you nor I am going to pay a penny to anyone for nothing. On a friendly note, keeping a civil tone in a public setting isn't a bad thing, is it? I don't know what you're trying to say about research. Institutes like IISc and most of the IITs are well funded. Having done my Masters from IISc a decade ago, I can assure you that the kind of work done there is really good. There'll definitely be disparity with institutes like Berkely and Stanford, but that's changing. Instead of ranting over KZbin, I'd recommend you to sit back and allow the change to happen.

@@nav5365 Abe chomu agar tu security nhi de skta to jo de skta hai(iit) usse lene me teko kya pareshani hai? Agar me nhi de skta to Teri tarah bhok nhi tha faltu me... Aur kya pata unne phele se hi soch rakha ho uspc ka . Aur Maan le upsc na hua to kuch security ke liye hona chaiye ya nhi? .iit vo security hai. Ki agar upsc me kuch saal waste bhi ho gye prep me to job kar skte hein . Warna BA karke upsc kiya aur na hua to berozgar hi rahega... Aur India me research culture accha nhi hai ye sach hai. Mene bhi socha tha research ka but itni mehnat karke ke baad bhi dhanka Paisa nhi hai. Utni mhenat kahi aur karo to usse kahi jyda Paisa milega. Sirf funding achhi hone ki baat nhi hai. Salary acchi honi chahiye. Agar itti mhenat karre hein to at least 3-4 lpm to ho kam se kam bhi. Ias ki bhi nhi hoti par waha ghus to mil jaati hai. Yaha to table ke neeche ka paisa nhi nhi hai.
