The video is really helpful in understanding the need for low pass representation of a band pass signal and how to go about it. Great going IIT Bombay.!!

I tried to understand the concept of complex envelope in several documents but I found a lot of difficulties, I believe this video is very interesting. I advise you to watch the entire series.

I like this guy. His explanations are very clear. However, I think all lecturers on this topic need to spend a few minutes to really emphasise how these complex signals are constructed and used in practice. In particular, I think it should be emphasised that the real and imaginary components of the complex signal are both real... and they both really exist in our electronic circuits; we can measure them each with a real oscilloscope. We only treat the imaginary component as imaginary in the mathematics as a useful abstraction.

thx for clear explanation of how real passband signals and complex baseband signals are coupled together at transmitter and receiver side

Technically speaking the signals transmitted after up conversion and before downconversion are passband signals

I’m sorry this lecture made things worse and was very frustrating to comprehend.
