Yup, and I don't really expect to see Mar receiving the message on Monday. And even though I'm not expecting it to happen, I still will be utterly disappointed if it doesn't happen (did that make any sense haha?). I'm still going with my fair guess of 2015 reunion, which naturally should've happened already in 2013.....

Too hard to watch Days right now after what they did to John and Marlena. Just seems so unrealistic after everything they have been through! I think I will tune back in when they are back together, which is hopefully soon. Can't watch Marlena being jealous over Roman. Yuck!

Wish soap writers would not have characters slap each other in the face. I think that is the most ugly and disrespectful thing you can do to someone- especially someone you love.Marlena slapped John on the face at least 5 times by my count- so sad. And she has slapped Sami a few times, Brady at least once, Andre a few times, Kristen a few times, Victor once. They all probably deserved it- doesn’t mean I condone it or think it’s right. But wish she would never have striked John. I don’t think she ever slapped Roman like that.

I agree, no act of violence should be taken lightly, not even in fiction. And the way De plays the slaps, like Marlena's doing it with full force.. I'm not a fan of that. Eileen/Kristen I remember seeing perform a "gentle" slap (which wouldn't physically hurt the other in real life), that's the slapping style I can get behind on soaps. But at least we can be grateful Drake once refused to play a scene where John would've hit Mar, which led to the writers changing the script. Had that aired, it couldn't have been repaired afterwards.. Not saying it's any better to have women slap/hit men, but it's impossible to explain physically stronger one hitting the weaker one in a romantic relationship..

@@IIttuJM glad to hear Drake refused to slap Deidre in that scene. John never was violent toward women. He is a very passionate man but he has always shown respect to the women he loved. He was kind of obsessive with Kristen - chasing after her when she was engaged and later married to Tony. That relationship was never healthy. But with Diana and Isabella and Marlena, he was more level headed. There was some writing in 2000-2001 when Brady came back as a spoiled brat and it put a wedge between him and Marlena- I did not like how they spoke to and treated each other during that time.

@@heathbettencourtt6440 Yes, it was during that exact storyline in 2000/2001 when John was supposed to hit Marlena. Not slap but actually hit. Such awful writing.. I might extend the obsessive behavior also to John and Marlena's relationship, at least the first couple months of the affair story. He was pursuing her.. the 100k dollar dance, forcing her several times alone with him and talk with him, asking her to leave Roman for him. Then the writing shifted a little and he became more understanding of their triangle, starting to accept he couldn't be her first choice (although she still was torn inside between John and Roman). It was only after the (false) paternity results when John fully gave up on pursuing her. Sigh. Good old days when the stories would play all the beats and nuances.

@@IIttuJM yes you are right. After they survived the pit together he started pressing Marlena to admit her feelings and would not leave her alone. However when he tried to remove himself by leaving town, Marlena showed up on his jet and …we know what happened after that.

Yes I agree I didn’t like when she slapped John 😢 use words instead that get the point across.
