Leave it on the 'warm' setting, it's much closer to the D65 whitepoint. Only set it to "user color" with everything on 100 if you really don't care about color accuracy. The color temperature will be way too cold, but hey it's your own choice. But if you plan on using this for photo or video editing, then you really want the colors to be neutral, and the whitepoint to be as close as possible to D65. Hardware calibration is even better of course (using a i1 Display Pro for example), but out of the box on the 'warm' setting the colors are pretty good already. Iiyama is a respectable brand, they know what they are doing. It's on the 'warm' setting by default for good reason.

Agreed and correct! The "user colour" setting is really only for people who have a meter to perform their own calibration, with the aim of getting closer to D65 than the factory "warm" pre-set.

hey b00bytrap, im between this monitor and an amva Iiyama monitor (XB2783HSU) and I don't know which one to pick because the ONE thing that I want to avoid and is critical to my eye comfort is yellowish whites. I want to have as cool whites as possible and I might even have to go back to a TN for this. So what do you reckon, this IPS or the VA -based on the cool whites?

I wonder how well XUB2493HS-B1 will work for graphic design (vector graphic mostly). Does it require manual or tool like Spyder 4 recalibration?

@@Sebastian-xb4ry Yea.. I'm really pleased with it! I love that you can turn it round and move it. One thing I didn't like was the the sound... I had my speakers plugged into the monitor and the sound quality was not as good, it was too quiet, so I have connected the speakers back to the pc tower again... I would buy again.

hi, I bought XUB2493HSU for office work and I keep getting migraines from working on this monitor. The letters are at the same time black and red, and not sharp enough. Would you happen to know what to do so that the text looks normal? I tried changing resolution and contrast but it is still terrible. I bought a Philips monitor, connected both to my laptop and Phillips has no problems showing the text normally. I am soooo worried. IIyama seems not to be usable at all.

Is there anything different between this monitor and the 22" version? I might buy the 22" version seeing as that's the only one available, I was wondering what the overdrive options are? Looking to buy a monitor to play games

Ehi man, thanks for the vid. Being watching for the 27''' model of this same B1, was wondering, since even my own monitor i "fixed" the colors by jumping around in the settings, do you think for 400 € it's worth it? I just want a 75hz+ 4k monitor, and this seems to be the only one at a decent price, the rest is 144hz and 2k+ €

Hey Galex, thanks for watching. Could you please share the exact model number of the screen you're looking for? And what will the monitor be used for the most? like video editing, photo editing, gaming etc.

Hey I am the Senate. Thanks for watching. That's one of my other Iiyama screens. To bad they got replaced by this "refresh" model. The model of the older screens is the ProLite XU2492HSU-B1 (without the A). The white and color balance may look a bit off compared to the monitor on the right but that might be due to the viewing angle/camera.
