Tips from someone who works at a grocery store, the "expiration date" is really just for freshness, the food is still edible and more or less tasts the same as long as it isn't open or needing to be refrigerated.

Its been 10 years. Remember when my friend flew to NYC (because of the time zone) to get the iPad on day 1. He was one of the first in the line, spent 2 or 3 days in front of the store. I still have mine, and its been sitting in her box since 2012 :) Still works and its in perfect condition.
