U are the only one who accurately mentioned how beautiful the lyrics were... Especially portraying the essence of their village life coz it had lots and lots of metaphors & similies related to nature, animals, plants, insects etc., three songs are by Mari Selvaraj himself like as he said in Baradwaj rangan's interview he's a phenomenal writer first & then a director....

7:26 They are in fact both related in real life and also they are somehow related to Maari as well (as told in an interview that the boys were his sisters' kids). And also the performances were raw because both these boys were living this same exact life prior to this movie and hence they could do it for the movie. They are real life classmates as well. Ponvel said that his life has changed now thanks to this movie because Maari wanted to show his story through these boys as it's easy and this should help change theirs as well as lots of others life for good.
