They were both showing a lot of PDA on the honeymoon in front of the cast. They also were very physical in the pool She was wrapping her legs around him and he wasn't objecting. So, what he said was happening behind the scene. Originally, they did live in one of the couple's places. Later, they did put everyone in the same building . I think that this was convenient for filming. Ikechi, was a fake from the start. He came on for clout. His narcissism and his insecurities began tainting the relationship. As for Em, she is very ambitious and goal oriented. She was willing to take abuse to make it work. She has accomplished all of her goals and her biological clock is ticking.

Based on what Emem originally said about her father never saying he loved her, she doesn’t expect that loving feeling in a husband. I’ve said it in my reviews that’s she’s thirsty and overly eager. However, I think the experts (as always) are at fault for gaslighting these couples into staying together to make a fluff show. Ikechi is a BAN that never saw it for Emem from the moment she walked down the aisle. He scrunched up his nose at first sight.

She is clearly vocal about what she likes and her concerns. The show was married at first sight and not how to get a girlfriend. I think Emem is used to setting goals and accomplishing them. Get a great education, done. Open your own practice, done. Buy a house, done. Get married and have kids. That’s the next step. I am the same way. But at 40 I had all those things but no husband. I didn’t get married until 42. There is nothing wrong with her wanting to be married. Most people want that. Why is she thirsty but everyone else is not who came on the show for supposedly the same reason but we know most did not? The problem is she wound up with Ike. I do agree I would stop asking questions, I would move into the other room, go about my business and let him be until this experiment is over. I would not continue to push for this marriage. Let him lead, which he won’t, and let the chips fall where they may.

Hey Auntie! I think one of the reasons why they don’t move into one of their homes is because in season 3, one of the women refused to give her husband a key so he could only enter when she or her roommate was home and open to him being there. It was a mess because her place was close to both of their jobs, which is why they picked it. But because she didn’t like him, he was forced to move back home so he could have a place to lay his head. They moved everyone into apartments the very next season.

Also she got mad at the dinner screaming about texting 10 times without hearing from Ike. She was trying to get some at night. She admitted that. What she says does not add up. Ike hates her. He's wrong for calling her names. She never said she called him names. EmEm said what she needed to at the dinner.

If they made an agreement to make things look good in public, is it possible that she is more upset that he's not keeping with the agreement? She's trying to do her part to make it look good, but he is not. I also think she is very desperate and possibly has low self esteem despite the accomplishments. I also think she doesn't want to admit defeat. I also don't trust Ike. He never answers question straight on. The answers are usually extremely vague and clarifying questions (which he hates) are needed. He has also said things and when asked for specific examples he would again gave a vague response, and sometimes would say 1 thing then say something that was the opposite of what he said before.

Your unpopular opinion is very popular with me auntie! Finally a reviewer is seeing the total picture and listening to what Ikechi is saying and seeing how Emem is acting. Yes, he's the total azzhole, but he's within reason on some of his thoughts. I see him...and her. Yes, they're both reacting to each other. Usually men are viewed as problem solvers, head in the house, whereas females are excused to be emotionally responders whose feelings are validated. So emotionally responding, Emem is the masculine partner, and Ikechi is behaving femininely. This is one reason why she's always apologizing. Emem gave me vibes at her pre marriage gathering with the female cast, she was just happy to be married, (a reached goal), than understanding the show's premise: entertainment/experiment. Her overly exciting dancing, and "my husband" comment said by her, had the cast looking strangely at her, especially Karla and Camille who were probably her her girls she vented to off camera. They know how much she wants this marriage. This is what Ikechi picked up at the ceremony: Emem doesn't see him, although he has superiority complex issues based on insecurity, she sees a "husband". With his superior attitude, Ikechi needs his wife to put him first period, where Emem has a partnership personality. At the altar, his Kevin Samuels attitude was alarmed (and he turned off) when her family described her as boss! For men as Ikechi, female boss means bossy, masculine, unmanageable, and leader which is not desirable traits for most modern men wanting wives. This men group have repeatedly said a woman's societal success doesn't make her wife material. Her feminine nurturing nature is wife material: her worldly success is a secondary attribute. He knew based on experience her type, she's not his wife. But he was willing to continue the process for contractual and self gratifying purposes as well as professional gains. The SA comment by Ikechi applied to Emem, the show entered a liability situation. I guarantee executive producers were alerted and executive producers and lawyers became involved. It appears the manipulative tactic used by the show was to protect themselves by getting them back together quickly by spoon feeding Ikechi (the victim) and getting Emem (the accused) on board. By doing so, can Ikechi prove he felt threatened and feared his safety? They knew that allowing Ikechi backed in that marriage, and filming he will further show how he is as a person: not innocent and definitely not a victim as he is claiming. The experts were too accommodating to Ikechi, (fishy) which I believe was legally based yet was ok with Emem because she just wants to succeed before the world as having a (trophy) husband first and protect her profession second. Believe me, her family friends told her of the potential damage he can cause her. She sees him. Last point, I think something sexual occurred on the honeymoon which benefitted Ikechi only. If so, that further validated Ikechi's pre judgement opinion about Emem. He really have female issues, especially those who values things and achievements. Maybe he entered a mental based career because he is in need of mental health care. Any disregard towards females could default to the 1st female in a child's life: the mother. He really needs to be seen, heard, validated. Why? Very likely as a child there was not enough provided and he will always seek to prove how special he is and worthy of being seen while simultaneously devaluing others...not just women. Again Superiority complex. Notice what he highlighted as an alert...how Emem treated the person on the street versus the people who have much. Now, Ikechi's history of over inflating the reality of a situation is well noted but he may have a point which we haven't seen on film. She's very careful on how she appears to the public. She even told her cast to assist her if she blows out of character and lose "control", another quality modern men dislikes in modern women.

I do understand that arranged marriages are common within her culture. HOWEVER, I don't think that is the case for Emems family as she had very little support from her parents.
