Bought a pair almost two years ago after having monitors twice the price. These are killer. I use a crane song Solaris DAC and mix 100% in the box. Since I’ve had this setup I’ve never had an issue with mix translation across multiple sources. These monitors just work.

I bought these in 2021 and they've remained my favorite studio purchase since then. Absolutely fantastic little monitors which continue to bring me joy. I chose them (after watching Z Reviews) for their size and sound but the mounting thread has now become indispensable as well. I hope they stay in good health for a long time because I recently heard a horror story about IK's out-of-warranty support.

Great video as always and perfectly timed as I’m considering getting a pair as I’m in an untreated room and my current speakers aren’t translating well to other systems. Their top end Precision monitors look great too!

Use these for my work laptop. Only change on Mk1 needs unbalanced jacks and move power switch to front. Other then that they sound great. Also used for checking playback against my dynaudio acoustics DAW .monitors

I have the first version and absolutely love them. I added a kali audio dual 6.5- inch sub (the sub isn't completely necessary, just my choice) and use IK's ARC studio room correction box. This setup has been game changing for me. The only thing that got me anywhere close to the same translation success rate was the Slate VSX system. But this has got it well beat. I will certainly consider upgrading to the mk2 version. Reason being, the SPL of the original is lower than I'd like, its definitely sufficient for mixing, but sometimes I just want to rock out.

Oh shoot MK2's - nice. I definitely still needed a sub with the MK1s and with the MTM Precisions to feel the low end not just hear it. Imaging and calibration are great on both!

Yes, that’s exactly what they are designed for.

"Room correction" (more like _room compensation,_ really) corrects time alignment and EQ, and only at the spot you measured. It's not magic. It can do nothing about your modal issues. If you're in a drywall box with no treatment on the walls then the sound is still going to bounce around and mask ambience in the recording. That said, it's better to have than to have not.

I just bought these speakers I'm just curious on the XLR on the back Is that an XLR male? Is that what it's called? I have an Apollo twin x quad and I was going to buy an XLR mail to 1/4 TRS and have the TRS go to the Apollo and the XLR male go to the speakers. They seem to be very odd shaped.

Hey Sydney alternatively you can grab a pair of MTM speakers and do your own review or you know you could sit down and stfu It's one thing to suggest that the audio in the background isn't working but it's another thing to act like an entiltled pos Good day sir, I look forward to your review of these speakers without background music 🎶

Im not used to music in the background on your vids.........For me, you really dont need it, not all through your talking.... ...Alas, as its your creative choice, its still a little loud.. IMO.

For me mk 1 is better. Yes, the new one has more open sound but they are too bright on high freqs, ear fatigue is the problem here, plus the difference is not really huge if you have original one, not worth it.

My guy this company is absolutely garbage, they will not sell parts or provide any service to speakers out of warranty, countless countless countless broken speakers are piling up. Highly recommend not buying them. They do sound amazing I’ve got both these and the mini set. they both don’t work anymore and there are many with the same story.
