My first look at thier older stuff, and in the intial interview he says, "We want to be a band that stays active for 20, 30 years". Achievement Unlocked!
I think Ningen Isu example shows how important marketing is in the world of music. An absolutely brilliant band that could have been known worldwide years before if there was a way to promote their songs to the Western audience. Language has never been a barrier. I am happy that the future is now bright for Ningen Isu!

yatsenkoanton I’m sure people in the industry have heard or seen them, and either didn’t think they would be marketable or that they would easily overshadow the crap we’ve had the last 20 years.

@@satatay23 Japanese artist management is weird in general. There are countless bands which music i am prohibited to buy unless I use japanese VPN lol (but even such measures don't help if the website requires japanese bank cards). Thank God there are plenty of artists on CDJapan though. They don't even try to make english versions of websites for artists. Without such basic measures international success is very unprobable. I always wonder why is it like that...

@@yatsenkoanton Japanese record companies know that they'll be successful in Japan. On the other hand, they though that foreigners would ignore their artists, in part because of the latent racism (which might be racist in itself, but not necessary untrue), and they were not willing to take such costly risk. The few Japanese metal bands that traveled abroad at the time were not really famous there (Loudness, Show-Ya, X...), and Ningen Isu being more "radical" than those, their success would have been a miracle. Do you think a Japanese Metal band would be really successful today in the West ? Not only Japanese musicians, but also singing in Japanese ? In countries where TV and film studios dub everything because people can't stand foregin languages ? Well, it was even worse back then.

@@Steak818 I absolutely think so, and I still believe that the management is the one to blame. Loudness had great exposure, X Japan as well, and Seikima-II are still relatively known in the West. Seikima-II is my all-time fav band and I am sure if the management didn't screw them over they would have been world famous, esp with His Excellency's excellent english. and I am sure that many people would love it BECAUSE they are different. It's cool to be different, radical, call it what you want. They are not the copies of other artists and it is truly amazing. You may ask me for an example. Easy! Kpop music. They sing in korean and they gather stadiums in the USA. And it's due to millions spent on the marketing. Another example is the Yakuza video game franchise that used to be knowng only in Jpaan and struggled in the West. Devs believed nobody would care because it's Japanese. However, it blew up only after the Yakuza 0 release due to it's popularity on Twitch. After such exposure these games became extremely popular. and you know why? It;s because they are made by talented people and because THEY ARE DIFFERENT.
I don't understand so much Japanesse, my mother language is Spanish but I still enjoy this music and this band SO much!!!! Awesome music.
