Therion - Land Of Canaan

Mais longa canção do album Sitra Ahra, com engenhosa riqueza de detalhes instrumentais, históricos e culturais. Retrata com detalhes tradições e costumes dos cananeus, bem como a causa de uma maldição herdada por toda uma descendência.
Segue abaixo um breve resumo:
De acordo com a Bíblia, o nome Canaã é alusivo ao filho de Cã e neto de Noé, ao qual se atribui a origem dos cananeus, conforme relato de Gênesis capítulo 10. Canaã seria a duodécima geração depois de Adão: Adão - Sete - Enos - Quenã - Malalel - Jarede - Enoque - Metusalém - Lameque - Noé - Cã - Canaã.
Na Gênese, passado o período do dilúvio, Noé planta uma vinha. Certo dia ele bebe do vinho produzido ali, entra nu e embriagado em sua tenda e pega no sono. Seu filho Cam (Ham) entra, "vê a nudez" de seu pai e, em seguida, conta aos seus irmãos que, de costas, de maneira a não verem o pai naquela situação vergonhosa, o cobrem com uma capa. Quando Noé acorda e fica sabendo do acontecido, amaldiçoa Canaã, descendência de seu filho Cam (Ham), dizendo que ele seria servo dos servos de seus irmãos.
A questão é: Por que Noé proferiu maldição tão terrível contra Canaã? Simplesmente porque Cam (Ham) o viu sem roupas? Alguns argumentam que isso aconteceu porque ver a nudez do outro era algo muito vergonhoso.
Outros dizem que o erro de Cam (Ham) estava em não haver coberto o pai da vergonha da nudez, deixando essa tarefa para seus irmãos.
Mas o problema vai além de Cam (Ham) ter visto a nudez do pai. No hebraico é narrado da seguinte maneira:
*וירא חם אבי כנען את ערות אביו ויגד לשני-אחיו בחוץ
wayareh ḥam avy kna'an et erwat avyw wayaged lishney-eḥayw baḥutz (Cam (Ham), pai de Canaã, vendo a nudez do pai, fê-lo saber, fora, a seus dois irmãos.)
A palavra para nudez é ערוה (erwah). Na Bíblia, essa palavra possui forte conotação sexual, ou seja, a tradução mais adequada de wayareh et erwat avyw poderia ser: e viu (teve acesso à) sexualidade de seu pai.
Sendo assim, entende-se que a expressão ver a nudez de... ou descobrir a nudez de... são eufemismos que significam ter acesso à sexualidade de...
É possível que Cam (Ham) tenha violentado seu pai e, como se não bastasse, saiu e contou aos irmãos. Essa pode ter sido a causa para haver recebido tamanha palavra de maldição que atingiu sua descendência.
