Surbek's doubles partner throughout the seventies was, I believe, Anton Stipancek.I remember when he played at the U S Open in Philly in '76 he had a penholder partner named Karakosovich. There is a modern day player by the same name. Just curious if they were related.

Yes, that was Milivoje Karakašević, and that modern day player would be Aleksandar Karakašević, his son. :)

It's interesting how they very quickly drop deep into the back court. Today it's all about speed and dominance of the forecourt.
