They both had awful timing.. 1993 was such a stacked year across the board. That being said I agree 100%; as much as I love TLJ in the Fugitive if Lawrence had been nommed for Supporting Actor instead of Best Actor I see him winning it. One of the best realistic villain performances in film and he really got into it.

It doesnt work that way. Ike gave her more than an opportunity. He taught her everything about music. I dont care how talented you are at anything you still need the right coach to make that talent shine. So ike did not simply give her opportunity . There is alot more to it than that

Wow! Tina is literally the definition of unbothered. Here, she shows that she doesn’t need his validation as she knows exactly what happened, distanced herself from him and never looked back. This interview shows that she has zero anger or bitterness and is simply is focused on her solo career. Not only is she an incredible performer, she is incredible in spirit and perseverance and the art of letting go!👑🎤🕊️

@@emhartung yeah I always wondered why she did not display some of that intelligence say way back the first time Ike hit her . Not the second time or the 5th time or the ninth time but the very first time. In my mind any woman that lets herself be victim to that a second time just plain out likes it so she's sick in the head. So she usually gravitates to someone as sick as her and they could be sick together and beat each silly . I know if somebody whacked me once they would never see me again. I guess everybody doesn't think like me though and they want to get whacked again . Do you see where we are going on this. It gets to be asinine on her part.

Always a lady, I cried at the news of her dying, but knew this beautiful bird was free at last to fly to Heaven and join her loved ones. He was a cruel human and hurt her every way possible. The Ike & Turner Review was the very first concert I ever attended, in Germany, 1975. He stood there strumming and singing in that deep voice, while she lit the stage in that swishy dress and with her amazing energy. Tina made Tina, she was always Anna Mae Bullock in her heart, and knew Anna Mae deserved simply the best. I love her music, the playlist in my iPhone impressively spans her career! Rest in peace and power Tina! There are no tears in Heaven~🙏

It was because back then it was hard for woman to be able to support themselves. The musicians and all them that she worked with were his musicians and he probably made her think she couldn't make it without him. Plus having 4 kids and 2 that weren't hers, she probably didn't want to leave them with him and if she took them with her she had to worry about supporting them along with herself. Tina Turner was not a racist: she was very proud of being a black woman. She was proud of where she came from & her success. Ike was just bitter & mentally ill. So sad such a talented man had such a violent temper & bitterness in his heart. He took everything from her money, cars, houses, music rights. He wanted to even take her name from her: but she put her foot down & said "at least let me keep my name: I earned & worked too hard for it." Tina is so gracious, grateful, forgiving, warm & kind. I probably would have put a bullet in Ike's head: if he abused me like that. Tina is a better woman than I would have been.❤❤❤❤
