@@jakemiles1427 actually the wigs were not cheap. They were human hair and they were custom made... The better wigs were actually made by her. One of the better self made weighs can be seen in a performance on the Kenny Rogers special. She sang get back and had on a multicolored long dress.

The beautiful thing about Tina is that she was strong for the both of them. Even in Ike’s insecurities and weakness she pushed him and helped in ways to open up. This photoshoot is an example of that. She got Ike to lighten up by playing with him and joking around here and there so they can get the job done. Tina is an amazing woman, I don’t even think she realizes how POWERFUL she was then and now. ✨💕💕

Thats why it was so bad when he tried to defend himself against the movie. I get what he was trying to say..but he articulated it badly. I think had he lived longer into the social media era..where he or his kids could have did videos with him telling his side..things would have made a bit more sense abt their life. It was a violent power struggle. Tina always said "that limo day i was not in the mood for fighting" That quote always struck me as when she got fed up wit him..she put vaseline on her face..took the wig off..and gave him the work. And if he was high or drunk..he was prolly too unsteady to really hit her back..[till he sobered up and randomly came back for her] "unprovoked". Reading both their books clears up alot.

It is very nice to see celebrities cut up and have fun, even if it is under pressure of the the photographer trying to get the "perfect" shot. i mean lets face it, the life of celebrity is not just singing endlessly on stage, there is a lot of background work as well that needs to be done for promotion and so forth, ya know. Either way, this is a great clip! And I might have even said this before on this very same post/video clip of them, lol

This video is part of their real history. Relationships go through ups and downs. They were together for almost twenty years so of course they had some good times. The negative is usually the focus, but I bet more good came out of their relationship than bad. For example their son and Tina's career.

I remember this photo shoot from the days when my mom had their albums. There’s one photo shoot that was with Ike and Tina, and it was in the sixties. Tina has this beautiful dress on, and Ike’s in the background holding the arms. Their relationship was brutal, but you can say that they did have chemistry when things weren’t bad

This was a year before their separation so I don't think they were actually happy. It's like they knew the tension between them had to get switched to a more relaxed tone in front of people so they actually look like characters extra excited for a type of work they must have done thousand of times. Not a natural thing. They didn't even want to kiss, and Tina seemed like pushing Ike to the edge to see if he would keep his character.

Tina claimed that she didn't love Ike. I believe she did and was really hurt that Ike didn't feel that way about her. Tina had some big issues especially' since her mother abandoned her since being a child. All Tina wanted was to loved. I get it! She contradicts herself. Tina said she was done talking about Ike years ago but she continues to exploit their dysfunctional relationship. Tina said repeatedly in her first book and in interviews that she was in love with Ike. She was more in love with him than he was with her. Ike said in his book that he loved Tina but he was in love with Ann Thomas, who he married after her. Tina said she had left him before their final blowout but she returned on her own. Ike said she always threatened to leave and had multiple suicide attempts, which he felt she was doing for attention. He admitted to not being compassionate enough and taking her for granted. If he had been more generous during their divorce I don't think she'd be as resentful as she still is now.

Tina constantly talks about Ike because that is the notoriety of her which is her relationship with Ike she cannot help that people think of ike when they think of Tina. And if you also paid attention to her documentary the reason she came back to Ike is because she felt guilty as a victim because she didn’t want him to feel like she was using him. And if she is resentful she has every right to be he abused her and basically raped her mistreated her for years Ike gave her ptsd. Like Tina is literally a cautionary tale that people spread awareness about now with abusive relationship don’t discredit that and try to find cracks.

She worked hard with Ike for almost 20 years and rightfully wanted her fair share. The reason the divorce dragged out for over a year is because Tina wanted money. Tina Turner isn't even her name. It's a stage name Ike Turner made up. Her birth name is actually Martha Nell, not Anna Mae, but she doesn't talk about that. In the end she settled on keeping her stage name, but she also kept the songwriting royalties for songs she wrote, her two Jaguar cars, her furs and jewelry. She was in debt because she took responsibility for the cancelled concert dates. Her documentary is only going to tell the narrative she wants told, not the entire story. I recommend also reading Ike's book Takin' Back My Name.

It's not unusual for people to be resentful after a bitter divorce, but for someone who sells happiness like Tina it is contradictory. She left Ike over 40 years ago and he is deceased yet she still doesn't have a peace of mind. Tina could chose not to constantly rehash her relationship with Ike just like she chooses not to talk about her estranged relationship with her sons. Didn't you notice that none of her living family members participated in her documentary? Tina is a cautionary tale of all that glitters isn't gold. Even with her successes she's miserable and has lived an unhappy life.
