Thank you so much!!! I have been looking for a replacement light for my antifoni lamp. Now, I know that I need a G9 led bulb. I am grateful for this. Thank you a million times.

I have the old halogen lamp (bought it around 7 years ago). I live in Europe and it didn't have a transformer when I bought it. You could just plug it in. Very bright light, but if you aimed it at the wall it was a very moody lamp. I always loved the matte finish on it. The nickel plated stuff looks terrible imo. As you said it gets really hot. Whilst studying I once burned a hole in a book of mine because it was that directional. In the end the socket exploded (I'm not kidding). Luckily the thick glass prevented any damage. I still love this lamp and it's on my long list of projects .... I don't trust fixing it as a lamp. But I could use it to clamp on a magnifying glass that I use when I'm working on electronics. Thank for posting, cheers.

its plenty enough for writing and studying. If you can check it out at Ikea store. For me, the height was important because I wanted to place the light behind the monitor.

it's December 2020. I don't know if this is a new feature or not, but the current Antifoni model has a dimmable light. People in the Ikea website complain of the same thing than in this video.. "the light is too low!!" and people don't realize the light is dimmable, so they are not cracking it up to a brighter setting. funny.

the model design you bought from craigslist is closer to 15 years old. mine lasted for about over 10 years. however the contacts for the bulb have worn out. when it starts to heat i suspect the contacts expand and the light start to flicker. anyway, it's a very old design.

Thanks, this is exactly what I was searching for! I will buy the halogen bulb, the other one seems kinda greenish and overall quite moody.. I don't like it. Do you recommend this lamp with halogen for studying, reading, and writing?

TheBartgry i think for general purpose use its pretty good. If you do get the halogen light be mindful that it will get quite warm..and you can kinda feel the heat if you like the light directly infront of you (i pull it from the back of my monitor to light the area infront). The LED is a good idea...if it can be brighter.

can you rotate the lamp head all the way 360 degrees on the new model ?

Oh no.... I gulped when you said you bought the older model for $5 on craigslist because same here 😭 Now I'm totally worried it will explode haha. I haven't really used it yet so now I know.

it could be that the used one i had was just poorly used. if you feel its running too hot then its probably not a good idea to keep it around plugged in.

Is it easy to move the top and does it stay where you put it? How "agile" is it?
@TH0RFan7 жыл бұрын
its pretty easy to move and the tension can be adjusted based on how tight u set the screws. I didnt really change any of the screw settings of the main light unit out of the box. I have however adjusted the screw on the base plate so its easier to swivel
