Ikea Brimnes chest of drawers assembly

Ready-to-assemble Ikea Brimnes chest of drawers has just arrived at your door step and you are not sure how to put it together. It should be a no-hassle job to do but if you have very little (or no) experience, it can take more time and effort than you think. Problematic instructions and leftover screws are the most common problems, not to mention endless hours (and arguments!) spent trying to assemble furniture. You can't afford to make a mistake, either. The parts created from man-made MDF are rather fragile and can be easily damaged due to its low sturdiness. Once you have screwed all the bits together, it's not a great idea to dismantle them and start the job all over again.
So if you need a little bit more guidance than the picture manual provided by the manufacturer, watch my video demonstration and your package contents will soon be looking like the chest of drawers you were dreaming of.
Ikea offers two versions - chest with 3 or 4 drawers. The frosted glass top drawer creates a distinct, elegant look.
The chest of drawers looks nice both as solitaire furniture or the look can be emphasised by placing two or more next to each other. @@ChildrenParadiseGreat, It's better to have it as it keeps the sides parallel, particuraly when the drawers are heavy full of stuff.

Is this the newer models? I see some with the flimsy cardboard back and some like this with the hard better-made back.

I bought it in December 2019. The back is not made of cardboard, it's made of thick sheets of MDF 1:21

2:30 how tight did you screw these in? Really having a hard time with these. The longer metal parts are still very loose (can go 360 degrees around) yet it is very hard to get the screw deeper into the wood.

It's very hard to explain. Pretty tight but not very, very tight because you'll destroy the furniture and the screw will start turning round.

Better use it if you can, otherwise the sides can bend over time. When the sides are not straight, the drawers won't slide smoothly

I'm sure Ikea has a service to build furniture, but it might not be cheap. Give it a try, you can do slowly, it over few days. I keep my fingers crossed.
