You did a REAL GOOD JOB on this enclosure Harli 😊🙏🏽. Not sure if this will make your life easier but im a reptile keeper & have tons of planted terrariums like this, if you add leaf litter to the bottom of the enclosure it will keep the springtails & isopods fed so you won't need to feed as often, i just replenish leaf litter as they go low on it, makes life easier 😊

@ there are “ready made” leaf liters made to purchase that are sourced safely & sanitized just to keep the guess work out but if you want to do it yourself they can do fine with oak tree & magnolia tree leaves if you can source them yourself, just boil in water for about 30mins to kill off any unwanted bugs or pathogens & let dry for a whole day & they will be safe & ready to use for your isopods

Its looking so good ^^ I also painted the inside of the glass on my ikea rudsta & akerbar terrariums, but to keep the foam from pulling it off, I hotglued a big sheet of styrofoam as a barrier (on the smaller akerbar I just used shopping bags instead of styrofoam). This way the spray foam was only attached to the styrofoam or the metal back of the cabinet and after a year the paint still looks perfect. Only thing to be careful of is that you don't directly touch the hot glue gun's tip to the paint or it'll burn through :p

So beautiful. I have a Milsbo wide, a Milsbo tall, and a rusta.. I really wanna convert the rudsta but I’m worried ans idk why. Maybe I’m just lazy lol**ps for us that don’t have live critters in our cabinets after really making sure the glass is clean rain x it, won’t get water spots***

Wow that went fast. I looks amazing. For cleaning the glass what do you use. I've seen someone use a magic eraser to clean the inside of the fish tank. Maybe that would work.

Have you noticed any rusting on your Milsbo? I saw Plant Gay for Life and his has so much rust. I started doing 2 Milsbo cabinets but I won’t continue if the metal will just all rust as I wouldn’t be able to cope with that.

I haven’t noticed it at all! I don’t have a fogger or humidifier in mine though & I know a lot of people put them in theirs. That could maybe be why I haven’t had any issues

Did you have any problems not having a fan? I use a fan in a top corner, but the plants close to it always dry out too fast. Also I think I remembered you introduced armadillidium zebra in the beginning? How did they do? I introduced armadillidium gestroi and I think it is too humid for them. Anyways beautiful enclosure!!❤

@@manuelakofler1158 hey yeah the zebras didn’t make it past 2 weeks. I definitely think it was a humidity issue bc they all lived toward the top of the terrarium where it’s more dry by the light & then I think maybe I never thought to put food up there for them 😞

I’m sure anybody would make mistakes in doing an experiment,in hindsight of cause we know! You did a great job Harli. Your bugs and plants are happy that’s all the proof you need. Have you thought of creeping fig to climb up the sides1 I don’t know if it will overtake but the leaves are small and compact. 💚💚🌿🪴
