I don't think so. I have the speaker and while it's the perfect fit for kallax, the speaker had really strong bass and would rattle anything inside or on top of the shelf eventually vibrating something off on to the floor and hearing the rattle.

I tried one of those Eneby, the bigger one. They do sound fantastic for the price. If IKEA is reading my comment, I think the only important thing missing is to pair 2 of those for a stereo setup. The multiroom, waterproofing, etc. are not necessary for a minimalist bluetooth speakers.

I just went to IKEA and paired my phone to the foyer display smaller speaker . WOW indeed ! So much bass , clear top end and mucho volume . Also the bluetooth range is very impressive , i walked 20 metres away and still had a connection . I left some old biffer listening to " Plaid " . I think he liked it !

Incredible value on the big one: A strong 8/10. Full disclosure: It could use a bit more top end, but elevating it off the floor will help tighten things up... a great buy, regardless.

I listened to this speaker today in my local Ikea store put it up to max then connected to it via Bluetooth and a few customers jumped and everyone did not look happy, this thing pumped i was impressed with the bass lacked a little mod like you mentioned but was pleasant to listen to. I did not purchase it ad i want to conpare it to other speakers like UE boom my brother just bought. I did prefer this Eneby 30 over the JBL flip 3 which I have heard.

"it is not a smart speaker" which in my book, makes it an even better value. I don't need another listening device in my house! I do find the mids are lacking on these speakers. I really think Ikea should have made it a 3-way speaker. The bass is really impressive, though.

Hey, it's the Arriva Trains Wales review guy :-P The "hole at the back you thought was a handle" is the bass reflex port (Helmholtz resonator); it's a tube that's of the diameter and length that tunes the cabinet to the same frequency as it would be with the same woofers in the same sized cabinet but sealed (or a bit higher for more of a peaky / humpy boost) and increases the low frequency efficiency ("boosts the bass") by redirecting the air pressure at and around the tuned frequency!

You almost get the Mackie CR4 or the M-Audio Studiophile AV42 for about the same price. Not the JBL LSR 305. Those doesn't do bluetooth though so there's quite a difference there depending on the use case but I would be interested in hearing how they sound relative each other. I'm not saying those sound any better just that it would be interesting.

The low-end is full only because the cubic VAS of an enclosure no larger than the little box they used, corresponds to about a 4" woofer.
@lillnemo1
@lillnemo1 5 жыл бұрын
Which means they did a good job innit? So basically you re saying MANY speakerbrands sell wrongly designed enclosures... Oh, and youve seen the video where the test the "woofer" displacement? For 4", they move very much And a fucnhell much more than many other speakers Fact is this sounds very good and very loud for the price and definately for a firsttime speaker by any brand. Are there better ones? Yes Can you build a better one yourself? Yes For the same price and finish? Doubt it

Thanks for your review Stu! - I’ve actually _not_ been able to make a decision re. the IKEA ‘’ENEBY’’ yet, because I’ve considered the Marshal Kilburn & the JBL Exreme (naturally, the latter two giving me the _added_ bonus of being portable as well!). But ‘portability aside, the _sound_ is where I meet the real quandary, - and tomorrow I’ll make a last personal ‘aural test’, then I’ll decide. (I also take into consideration, that any decent speaker ought to be ‘played in’ before you really hear what it is capable of!) But, I can attest to _your_ surprise booting up the IKEA-speaker; It certainly sounds impressive! Thanks anyway for your input! - Greetings from Norway! 😉 👍

I'm wondering the same thing. I believe so, through the aux in port. I have a Chromecast audio connected to a passive speaker setup (through a mid-70's amp) & it works great. Had to make sure the 'hifi' setting was on in the Google Home app.

The Chromecast Audio and this speaker have compatible 3.5 stereo consumer line level out/in (resp) - so YES, it would work. How 'well' depends on how much of an audiophile you are.

Can you have, say, a computer plugged into it via the input jack, but also connect to it via bluetooth without having to disconnect the input?

@dylandog1289 5 жыл бұрын
chuckhpnwx By default, no, but software may be able to work around it. As it stands, when you plug in a 3.5mm it seems to disable bluetooth, and then the BT comes back when the 3.5 is unplugged

How is that working with the wall mount and the bass port on the back?
@czarzenana5125
@czarzenana5125 5 жыл бұрын
@@3rdworldgarage450 Yes, but the mount to the wall is made to stick the speaker with it's full back to the wall. It's not that there is some room between the wall and the speakerbox, so how does that work then?

Honest review from an honest customer here. I just went my nearest IKEA store and wanted to hear it for myself,take my word for it when I say I have a good sense if quality when it comes to sound quality. The sound in this speaker, is honestly disappointing. Low-end is there but it's not crispy, it's muffled and cloudy almost. The high end is non existent pretty much. Just get a Marshall or another better speaker. It's not worth the 80 pounds. But I like this guy I really do ahha great video, but I have to disagree with review of this speaker.

A really fantastic speaker, love mine. But it has a downside, it will automatically power of after about 20 minutes so using it with something like a Chromecast Audio is not ideal. I do but I have to power it up every time I want to cast some music.

There's a small hack you can do to make it stay on, if you know someone with a soldering iron there's a youtube video about it.
