I was told that keeping sneakers in boxes damages them when left for some time… is this true? I was going to buy a couple shelves to put my shoes on. Is this better to keep the condition at its best?

Depends on the shoes, Older Jordan 1s for example, they will get these speckles on them over time since they are left in the box.
