Ikea Micke desk assembly

So the Micke desk in the Ikea catalogue doesn't look like the box which arrived on your doorstep. Assembling it is your next task but the only manual you have is a set of pictures. Sometimes you may need a little bit more guidance, watch my video demonstration and your package contents will soon be looking like the workstation you were dreaming of. The assembly process is not as difficult as you might think.
The size:
Width: 105 cm Width: 41 3/8 "
Depth: 50 cm Depth: 19 5/8 "
Height: 75 cm Height: 29 1/2 "
Max. load: 50 kg Max. load: 110 lb
Drawers sizes:
big drawer: 61,5 cm x 36,5 cm
small drawer: 23,5 cm x 36,5 cm
depth: 8 cm
Useful information:
* It is easy to assemble, even if you don't have experience.
* The outlet at the back will allow you to keep the cords and cables together and out of sight.
* You can mount the storage unit either to the right or left, depending on your needs and available space.

* Adjustable shelves in the storage unit allow you to regulate their height, according to your preference. Alternatively, you can remove them completely if you need more space e.g. to held a computer tower.
* An opening in the back panel is not ideal if you want to use the cabinet for storage. But it's a great feature if you decide to put the computer or other electronic equipment there as it provides fairly decent ventilation.
* Extra drawer units the exact height of the desk are available. Very handy when you want to extend the working space.
* The back of desk is fully finished so it doesn’t have to be placed next to the wall.

Heartaxe The desk is very sturdy. We bought it especially for a computer. You can take out the drawers and place a computer, it's very easy to do. We paid £60 for it and believe that it is a good value for money. If you have any other questions I am happy to answer them.

I built this desk a couple of weeks ago but can't get the small drawer in. I have double checked the instructions and it is put together right. I had the same problem with the larger drawer but managed to wiggle it in, but the small drawer won't go in no matter what I do! Has anyone else experienced this problem and have a solution for it?

The desk will work and look perfectly fine if I skip/omit the storage door? Prefer to have open storage 🤔 and I hate to have to adjust the screws to get the ideal gap (what you did near end of this video). I got OCD, that will take me forever to do 😂😂😂

Yes, you don't need to install the door. The desk is sturdy enough, it won't make any difference

Very nice. This 1m+ table very suitable for the first study/work table. Excellent. I am looking to buy the small (73cm) one, but this video showed me the screwing and nails, how to screw in which was my concern because i never assembled a table before, doesn't look too difficult as long as patient and remember to use a cardboard/cloth underneath the table while assembling. Ikea style and design with the stopper to reduce sound in the cabinet and steel leg. Very good ***

Well, hello. I ordered this desk and it just arrived. I'm a little annoyed though because on their site it lists "dark brown" as the desk's colour and on the package too, yet it's black. It looked way different on the photos on the site. I'm thinking of calling them but I don't think I'll achieve much, they rarely ever pick up their phones anyway. Edit: I just saw a couple of comments saying that the colour is brown-black, depending on the light. Well, they should include that on the product details because it's misinformation otherwise in my opinion.

If you are sure that the screw is OK, you should contact Ikea and ask for the part change. That are usually very helpful.

At the first glance it is black. When you look closer you can see brown hints . It depends on the lighting and I suppose the batch as well. But I would say it looks very black rather than very brown, the video shows the colour pretty well.
