hello neville. Yes i also got confused at first. Flexibility is advantage from organisation point of view if they want to add new function to the organisation. As for inflexibility being disadvantage, it is now talking about in terms of moving a staff from one function to another - it is unlikely to happen because staffs are speciliazed in their respective function. it is unlikely someone will move from Sales function to Engineering function as he will not have the skills for Engineering.
