I think about this move from Puyol all the time. Thought of it today in the Nations League final when Nacho used the same hook technique to prevent a crucial Modriç shot, albeit without the freaking 360 spin before it. I know (and agree) that both Iker Casillas and Emiliano Martinez have blocked some of the most important shots in FIFA history. But Emi Martinez's save was much much more special. First of all, it was a save at the 123rd minute, the final minute of the injury (and related) extra time; that goal would have literally concluded the match. Secondly, Randal Muani's shot was was very powerful and Martinez had to do nearly a full-split to stop the shot (basically it demanded more physical strain and power).

Emi had a more important save undoubtedly because of the circumstances. But Muani didn’t really have a chance to set up his shot. He caught the cross and shot like a second later and a couple seconds before broke through the defense. Gotze caught a gnarly cross and managed to finish his shot at a difficult angle, though he was pretty clear of defenders. Robben on the other hand, had plenty of space and time to set up his shot. He even made Casillas go the wrong way but Casillas still managed to kick it away. Spain didn’t score until extra time. Assuming they still didn’t score in regular time and Robben had scored his chance, Netherlands would’ve had a WC and Spain wouldn’t. That’s all a big what if though.

Important save, but Robben's finishing is flawed. Casillas had dived before the shot. He had the goal served. Objectively, Casillas dive is an error, which he miracously saves by lifting a few cm the leg because of Robben poor finishing. Far from the best save of all time.
