Carl. It is not the roof that supports the walls. What stops the weight of the roofing material spreading the walls is the ties and ceiling joists, so the lighter the roofing material the better consistent with performance in winds, etc. In England, it is not common for the roof of a house to be covered in plywood. In Scotland, a lot of roofs have wood sarking which replaces the felting used in England.

Stay away from this, it's made from plastic and there's no place for plastic on a roof, they make it sound and look good but trust me, over 25+ years in the business and plastic won't last long with the sun beating on day after day. And when it go bad this company will probably be out of business by then. Beside the point with no plywood sheathing your house has no sheer straight and your roof's what holds up the exterior walls.
